Conference on Redefining Welfare, Safety and Security of Women and Children- Role of Institutions” was organized by the
Central Social Welfare Board, Ministry of Women and Child Development, Govt. of India on 27.01.2020 at Hotel, The Ashoka,
New Delhi. Hon'ble Minister, Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani inaugurated National Conference in the presence of officials from M/o
Women & Child Development, National Commission for Women, National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, SCW
and SCPCR.
AWARENESS PROGRAMME ON DRUG ABUSE ORGANIZED BY BHARATHIYA ADIM JATI SEVA SANGH (BAJSS) & PUDUCHERRYSTATE SOCIAL WELFARE BOARD
Bharathiya Adim Jati Seva Sangh (BAJSS), Puducherry and State Social Welfare
Board in association with National Institute of Social Defence Ministry of Social
Justice and Empowerment, New Delhi, conducted an Awareness Program on
Drug Abuse Prevention under National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction
(NAPDDR) . The programme was organized on 8th January, 2020 at Community
People Jawahar Nagar community hall, Boomiyanpet , Puducherry.
Smt. N. Vaijayanthi Chairperson, Puducherry State Social Welfare Board, Shri A.
S. Karthikeyan, President, BAJSS and Shri P. Gouthaman, Secretary, BAJSS
graced the occasion as Chief Guests. Smt. Chitraleka, Social Service officer
(Retd.) from JIPMER, Shri Sivanandhan Project Director cum Counselor in
Bharatha Matha De-addiction center and Smt. M. Kasthuri Project Manager,
BAJSS delivered their key note address as Resource persons.

ONE DAY SENSITISATION PROGRAMME ON WOMEN & CHILD ISSUES CONDUCTED BY PARIHAR, FAMILY COUNSELLING CENTRE, BENGALURU, KARNATAKA
One Day Sensitization Programme on Women & Child Issues was organized by Parihar, Family
Counselling Centre on 22nd January, 2020 at the office of Commissioner of Police, Infantry Road ,
Bengaluru. Police Personnel and NGO’s representatives took part in the programme .
VISIT OF MSW STUDENTS OF SRI PADMAVATHI MAHILAVISVA VIDYALAYAM, TIRUPATI, ANDHRA PRADESH TOTAMILNADU SOCIAL WELFARE BOARD, CHENNAI
Students of Sri Padmavathi Mahila Visva Vidyalayam, Deptt. of Social Work,
Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh pursuing Master of Social work visited the
Tamilanadu Social Welfare Board, Chennai on 23rd January, 2020 as a part of
their curriculum in MSW. Total 22 students alongwith two Professors i.e. Sh.
Prof. K. Murugaiah, Head of the Department and Prof. (Dr.) M Bathemna,
Department of Social Work participated in the field visit .
During the visit, Secretary, Field officers & Welfare Officers of State Social
Welfare Board, briefed about the schemes implemented by the Board
through voluntary organisations and the scheme of Family Counselling Centre
(FCC). Students were also explained about the role and responsibilities of the
counsellors in the centre, total budget for the FCC scheme and the services
being rendered by it. At the end, Prof. K. Murugaiah, HOD and Prof. Dr. M
Bathemna presented vote of thanks to Tamilnadu Social Welfare Board.

CELEBRATION OF NATIONAL GIRL CHILD DAY ATGC GIRLS SCHOOL, AHMEDABAD, GUJARAT
Stree Kelvani Family Counselling Centre conducted an Awareness Programme on the topics like
Save the Girl Child, Child Sex Ratios and creating a healthy and safe environment for girl child at
GC girls school, Raipur, Ahmedabad, Gujarat on the occasion of National Girl Child Day.
CELEBRATION OF NATIONAL GIRL CHILD DAY BYINDO TRUST, PERAMBLUR DISTRICT, TAMILANDU
Indian Development Organisation Trust, Peramblur District , Tamilnadu celebrated National Girl Child
Day on 24th January, 2020 . FCC counsellors, DCPO, S.P. and NGOs participated in the programme.

Palanpur Vanita Shishu Vihar, Family Counselling Centre conducted an Awareness programme on
benefits of Personal Hygiene (Sanitary Napkin) . The programme was organized for students of Nutan
High School , Palanpur Dist Banaskantha, Gujarat celebrating the World Menstrual Hygiene Day .
CONSULTATION MEETING OF COUNSELLORS AND ORGANISERSOF FAMILY COUNSELLING CENTRES AT IMPHAL, MANIPUR
One Day Consultation Meeting of the Counselors and Organizers of the Family Counselling Centres in
Manipur was held on 27th January, 2020 in the office of Joint Director, ICDS, / Secretary, Manipur State
Social Welfare Board.
AWARENESS PROGRAMME ON CHILD ISSUES CONDUCTED BYGOOD HOPE, MADURAI, TAMILNADU
Awareness Programme on Child Rights, Child line, Pocso Act and Good and Bad touch was conducted
by Good Hope and Madurai Institute of Social Science College Field students on 30.01.2020 at
Alampatt Matri School, Tirumangalam, Madurai, Tamilnadu. Students of 7th & 8th Standard and
Teachers of the school participated in the programme.
AWARD TO TAMILNADU STATE SOCIAL WELFARE BOARD FOR RUNNINGTHE SCHEME OF FAMILY COUNSELLING CENTRE ON THESUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF 100 YEARS OF INDIAN RED CROSSSOCIETY AT CHENNAI, TAMILNADU
On the occasion of successful completion of 100 years of Indian Red Cross Society , a function was organized
on 28th January, 2020 at Kalaivanar Arangam Chennai. During the programme, an Award was conferred to
Tamilnadu State Board for continuous support to the Indian Red Cross Society and running the scheme of
Family Counselling Centre successfully. Shri G. Perumalswamy received the Appreciation Award on behalf of
Tamilnadu State Social Welfare Board. Hon’ble Governor of Tamilnadu, Banwarilal Purohit graced the occasion
as Chief Guest.
