The Agudat Achim cemetery is located onSchermerhorn Street in Rotterdam, New York

PLEASE HELP TO CULTIVATE OUR FUTURE

An old man was planting a sapling by the side of the road when a stranger stopped and asked, “Why are you planting a tree at your age? It will be many years before it provides fruit and shade. You may not live to enjoy it.”

The man replied, “All my life I have enjoyed food and shade provided by those who came before me. As my ancestors planted for me, I plant now for my children

and my children’s children.”-The Talmud

Cemetery Beautificationand Restoration

Campaign

Fulfilling the sacred

Jewish obligation of

k’vod ha-met,

honoring our

beloved departed

Congregation Agudat Achim has embarked on a campaign to bring our cemetery to the level of beautification that the sacred space deserves. We can create a beautiful, peaceful environment for family and friends to visit the final resting spots of loved ones with an investment of $500,000. This ideal setting will be an extraordinary place for reflection, a retreat from the outside world, a sacred ground for honoring those who have passed on. Through a dedicated group of volunteers and professional architects a plan has been put in place to bring this project to fruition. A core group of donors have come together to launch this campaign with more than $100,000 committed to date.

The rendering above can be our reality, but only with the commitment of those family and friends who recognize the deep meaning of this cemetery. There are numerous opportunities to memorialize or honor a loved one by donating a garden, gate, bench, flower bed or brick paver. Please see giving opportunities on the reverse side of this brochure.
