A comma in writing is like a pause inside a sentence when speaking. We use commas inside sentences. Commas separate parts of a sentence into logical elements.

How to use comma

1. Use a comma between items in a series or list.

Example They carved jade into statues, necklaces

and other jewelleries.

Example Archaeologists - scientists who study

the lives and cultures of people who lived long ago, know some things about the ancient Maya from their art and writings.

2. Use a comma if you have a phrase before the subject.
