New analytical capacity to support Alliances

CADEAS will be established during 2017/18.

Funding for approximately 15 posts

To support Alliances with data, evidence and analysis needs

Evidence-based local decision making

NOT to monitor or assure performance.

A partnership between NHS England and Public Health England

Evidence, lessons and challenges to be shared more readily

Focus on analysis which adds most value

Consistency in approaches and methodologies

Work closely with analysts across the system.

Nationally coordinated strategic service

ANALYTICAL FRAMEWORK

CADEAS will focus on providing data, strategic analysis and evidence underpinned by an analytical framework

Initial work programme on data will include two key deliverables: (i) data packs on cancer populations

Data packs produced in partnership with NCRAS: • One Alliance pack • Individual Alliance packs with CCG data • Individual Alliance packs with STP data

Contents: Outcomes • Survival • Mortality • Prevalence • Patient experience Cancer pathway • Screening • Early diagnosis • Operational Performance • Incidence • Pathways (median times - lung; colorectal; prostate)

Replicating reports produced by Pan-Cancer Vanguard Informatics Team in partnership with RM Partners and NCRAS.

Initial work programme on strategic analysis to focus on four key themes identified from Alliance engagement

Pathway analysis Capacity modelling

Evidence to support business cases

Scenario modelling/ forecasting

Initial work on evidence to focus on gap analysis

Develop analytical framework including logic models.

Produce stocktake of key interventions in each work stream using Alliance delivery plans and Transformation Fund bids.

Develop understanding and advise on planned local evaluations.

Work with partners to identify specific projects to support and fully evaluate.
