CAMERA MOVEMENTSThe different types of camera

Tracking Shot

A tracking shot is when the camera moves with the action or subject, usually on wheels on a track. This is used a lot and helps make the scene look more professional.

Steadicam shot The Steadicam is a

hand held piece of equipment and follows the action, it can either make the scene have a jerky feel to it or it could be smooth, it normally helps make the audience think that they are there.

Zoom shot The zoom shot can

zoom in or out away from the subject. If done quickly, it can create a dramatic feel and if it zooms slowly, it can make it feel dreamy.

Crane shot The crane shot can

be used for looking down on the action or subject, this can be used in combination with other camera shots. It can also give a birds eye view of the action.

Trombone shot A trombone shot is

when the camera zooms in or out whilst tracking in or out.

Pan shot Pan shots are used to

follow the action from a pivot such and can be used as to show what a character sees as an example, this can be used with other movements as well which can create different effects.
