Jamaica. . . It ’s CricketThousands of cricket enthusiasts will soon descend upon Jamaica

for Cricket World Cup 2007. The Caribbean has served up world classsporting events in the past, but nothing like this.

With an estimated World Cup TV audience pegged at two billion (with more exposure through broadband internet access) all eyes will beon Jamaica, St. Lucia, Barbados, Grenada and Guyana even before thefirst ball is bowled. Sixteen teams from four continents will participate.

Jamaica is the host nation for opening ceremonies on March 11, 2007, at the new Trelawny Multi-Purpose Stadium near Falmouth whereWarm-Up Matches will be played. Newly renovated Sabina Park inKingston stadium will host six First Round Group matches during March2007, including the opening match of the tournament with West Indiespitted against Pakistan on March 13.

One of two Semi-Final Matches will be played at Sabina Park April 24, 2007.
