By Dewey Reed and Soloman Jarman

Colorado National Monument Independence Rock Trail

We learned a lot on this field trip. We got to see tons of weathering and erosion in real life. We saw rock layering and erosion in creek beds along with weathering along the rocks. This helped us to understand how certain types of weathering and erosion happens. Also we saw signs of weathering along tall rock formations where wind and water and ice had wore and shaped the rocks. We will remember the view and the fun we had hiking. We will also remember the fun we had climbing on the rocks even though Soloman smashed his finger.
