Precise Tuning Control for System Optimizations

Energy and Comfort

[7]

Example Scenario: Reservation of a Conference Room

• The reservation of a conference room activates a pre-set program for all necessary functions (lights, ventilation, air condition, blinds, computers).

• The system remains on “standby” mode (lower energy usage) until 5 minutes before the conference room is to be occupied.

• The systems power on and reach program set points as conference room is occupied.

• After the occupants leave the room, the systems re-enter “standby” mode, reducing the energy load of a now unoccupied office space.

Energy and Comfort

Practical Benefits:

• Efficient Energy Utilization

• Lower Operating Costs

• Controllable comfort levels for all rooms, at all times.

Fire Safety & Security

Central Control Station

[11]

Fire Safety & SecurityExample Scenario: Fire Alarm in Critical Storage Facility

• All information related to the fire is channeled to the control center.

• The surveillance system zooms in on the source of the fire, and an automated building alarm sounds.

• An automated voice and guiding lights indicate the direction evacuees are to take. Elevators are shut down and escalators only run towards the exit.

• In seconds, the operator can trigger the main alarm to alert the fire department and provide them useful information about the location, type and size of the fire.

• The fire department can then plan its response tactics in advance.

Fire Safety & Security

System Highlights:

• Improved ability to detect and fight fires.

• Improved assessment and response.

• Fast and precise provision of information to the fire department

• Less training required for operators, thanks to user-friendly system operation.

Installation

1. Preliminary meeting with client to discuss the needs and requirements of service.

2. Energy audit to get data on system efficiencies.

3. A plan is drawn up for integrating systems specific to the client’s needs.

4. The discussed systems are installed, including the main control dashboard.

5. The support and communication service is activated and tested.

6. Any additional client requirements are addressed.

After a major fire, most companies endure a police investigation that destroys the company's reputation, likely forcing the company to go out of business.

The return on investment for fire preventative systems is immeasurable!

How will BilTek create savings?

In the Scenario One example, the energy efficiency measures yielded an average monthly utility savings of $254. This was achieved through more efficient cycling of the heating and cooling systems. It was determined through the initial energy audit that the systems were running all night. Additionally, during the day, the heating and cooling system no longer remains fully on, but cycles between on and off. It was determined that cycling the systems off for half an hour several times a day had no noticeable effect of occupant comfort.

Additionally, electricity wastage was reduced by turning computers off at night. Motion controls for lights turned lights off when the room was not in use. This resulted in a measureable reduction in electricity consumption.

How will BilTek create savings?

In the Scenario Two example, the main fiscal savings was achieved through reduced insurance rates. The client recently had a theft of valuable chemicals, and had not met certain safety precautions. Consequently, the fire, theft and safety insurance rates were going to rise dramatically if something was not done to address it.

With the new environmental sensor suite installed, and video surveillance upgrade, the company was able to meet the requirements set forth by their insurance broker, and they maintained the same insurance rate. While a confidentiality agreement prevents us from detailing exact figures, it can be stated that it was a very worthwhile investment for them to make to ensure they maintained the current insurance rates.

How will BilTek create savings?

Additional Sources for Savings:

Ventilation systems in offices with normal occupancy can be completely shut down for as long as half an hour without causing rooms to become stuffy. Same goes for underground parking garages.

Elevator speed could be reduced, with no noticeable annoyance to the occupants, during off peak hours, saving 10% electricity cost.

Pumps that fill a water system for toilet flushing could be started with a delay of as much as 12 hours without any danger of the tanks running empty.

How does BilTek best the competition?

•Centralized dispatch services to provide 24/7 support anywhere in the world.

•Modular implementation of desired system components offers increased flexibility in meet client needs.

•Pre-programmed scenario automation that be tailored to meet specific client needs. (Chemical industry, Laundry fire, hospital concerns, etc.)

•Remote System Notification and Optimization from Cell Phones: System alarms can be configured to text the cell phones of related personnel. The possibility exists to then incorporate an additional cell phone service with security protocols to allow the personnel to manage building systems remotely.
