What makes Malaysia unique is actually the varied cultures of the different people. Morning market is a very local location where you can understand more about this multi-cultural society.

Culture without colours is bored and unimaginable. No matter which part of the world you turn to, the colors continue to weave a path of sheer artistry throughout the culture.

‘‘No culture can live if it attempts to be exclusive.’’

Mahatma Gandhi

NOTE :A simple floor plan is provided for each market. A coloured box is to show you the location.

Mango makes my day!

The yellow colour works well with Green.Yellow provides crisp uplifting view that are bold to the eyes.

The green is a success when combined with woody tones.

This Chinese woman is friendly and provides such a good service to customers. She even shares her sceret recipe with me.

Sandy yellow heading towards the soft yellow and more approachable.

I found out that the sunny natural light bring out its real color values.

It's really inspired me.

Brown colour reminds me of earth colour. These few colours tend to be dark and cozy in outlook.Their warm tones work well with the light in the dry market.

Black and white can dismiss easily from the fish stalls.Somehow, the fishmongers arrange the fishes according to the hue of colour.

14TUESDAY

address Jalan Wan Kadir 2, Taman Tun Dr Ismail, 60000 Kuala Lumpur

opening hours 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

It's a over 25 years old indoor wet market .

Around 268 stalls are located in this double-

stories market. of JANUARY

Went there on a holiady.

The way they arrange the fruits is catching my attention. It's more orderly compare to the outdoor market.

The reflection of light brings out the colour of every fruit.

The owner makes a good use of the space. The baskets are used to distingush the vegetables.

The purple cabbages show a high contrast between the green. The purple has strong hues to catch my eyes.

For Chinese grocery shop, it’s more on brown colour because of the herbs and traditional biscuits.

For Indian grocery shop, it’s more on yellow colour because of the packagings.

The black, white and grey may lack strong colour, but I love the clarity produced by these sharp and clear tones.

The yellow colour is fresh and create a warm view .The yellow in front looks completely different with the back one because of the level of natural lightning in that space.

There are more Chinese shops in the dry market which located on the first floor.

The brown colours I found in the shops are natural and their warm tones working well in any location.

It's not so busy when I arrive at 1pm.

The narrow walkways are wet and covered by

canvas to stay you away from sunlight.of JANUARY

transport Kelana Jaya KL Sentral (Monorail) Chow Kit

The hawker arranges the grapes layer by layer to around 30cm height. This is a clever space-saving solution for limited space.

Most of the meat stalls don’t owned by the local.

Red colour in these meat stalls has negative connotations to me.

‘ Fiery , fire and danger’

Chow Kit’s dry market is different from others.I can get the colourful snacks at most of the stalls.

The brown colour is calm and stable.Brown doesn’t shout its presence but do provide a sense of wellbeing.

Those dried fishes have a pungent smell.

The stall is decorated by a simple grey and brown.Grey works well when displaying with other stronger earth colour.
