5.2 Warming up It is necessary to warm up the machine after it has been stopped for hours, especially over night. Please ensure to let the machine running free for at least 30-45 minutes before you do accurate cutting. 5.2.1 Warming up Load free operation more than 30 minutes (longer in the winter) Check spindle rotation and orientation function Check tool change function Check lubrication and coolant device function Make sure all these are working properly. 5.2.2 Warming up procedure

5.6.1 Probe calibration 1.- Calibrate a tool We are going to calibrate a tool to get the exact position of the probe. You must take a part of known dimensions and calibrate the tool without using the probe. 2.- Calibrate the probe with (PROBE2,B,F) using the tool calibrated before. When the probing operation will be executed, we will get on the parameters P298 and P299 the position of the touched sides of the probe. You must take these values and write them in the dimensions of the general machine parameter. For example, if we have a probe of 40mm length. PRBXMIN (P40) = P298 - 40 mm PRBXMAX (P41) = P298 PRBZMIN (P44) = P299 - 40 mm PRBZMAX (P45) = P299 After modifying the parameters SHIFT+RESET must be executed to validate the parameters. 5.6.2 Tool calibration Before using the probing cycles to calibrate the tools, you must give an approximate value to the tool offsets variables. The CNC needs to know the approximate size of the tools to avoid collisions before the probing cycles. In the next two pages you will find a subroutine for the tool calibration using the probe. For this subroutine, the tool number 1 has been used as reference tool to calibrate the probe. As the probe position has been given regarding to the tool number 1, when we will try to calibrate the rest of the tools, we must compare the size of the selected tool with the size of the tool number 1. We need to compare both sizes to touch exactly in the middle of the side of the probe.
