Black PantherAs you can see, it is very difficult to read text superimposed onto a full-bleed picture. Even when the text is

bold and the color is different, it does not help the reader to follow

your slide. Plus, you cannot see the picture very well. You may use this technique on your 1st slide only!!

The black panther is unique because of its body structure, habitat, and hunting

techniques.http://y2u.co.uk/Knowledge_Information/I_zq5/RN_Animal_Black_Panther_1.jpg

Panthera pardus

Use pictures in a smart design.

Place pictures off to the side and type next to the picture.

Cite your pictures!!!

12 point, 14 point, and 18 point fonts are small.

24 - 32 point fonts read well from an audience.

You may also place your font in bold.

•You may also use light colored fonts

on a very dark background.

•This combination looks clean and is

easy to read.

Text Choices• Beware of using some fonts…

– Algerian is OK for titles only!– OLD ENGLISH IS DIFFICULT TO

READ.– Do not use scripts either! There are

many, but are usually small.– Gigi is choppy looking

Light Colors on light backgrounds are difficult to read.

Instead, use a very dark color!

Dark fonts on dark backgrounds are unreadable.

Use light colors instead!

Use Contrasting Colors!!!

Bullet Your Information!

• Use phrases or VERY short sentences

• Keep your text to a minimum!

• If you use the correct text font size, you will avoid having too many words on a slide.

Black Panthers may live in:

•Rainforests, marshlands, woodlands, swamps, savannahs, and even mountains and deserts

•Panthers are commonly found in the western United States and throughout South America

Transitions

• Do not use the typewriter transition. It takes too long to enter text and is annoying!

• You may spin or flash in test… but use this sparingly. You do not want to hypnotize your audience!!

Works Cited

• This slide is NOT included in your 6-slide count!

• You must alphabetize your sources by the author’s last name/article name.

• You should not use bullets, for it messes with the works cited format…

• An 18-point font works best to fit in all of your information. Your heading may be larger.
