One couple . . . one child . . . one woman . . . by God ’s grace, can change one people . . .

one family . . . one village. We have just received reports about what God is doing through three of our ministries that

I want to share with you:

One couple, Sokrat and Lena, church planters among the Gypsy people, are called by Godto help their people learn literacy and give them the priceless opportunity to read the Wordof God for themselves.

One child, named Aamir, went to a Children’s Bible Club and was transformed by God’slove and grace; now he and his whole family have been saved and baptised and have joineda church.

One woman, Roth, went to one village to share the Good News; now that village isbeginning to change one person at a time.

One life makes a big difference among a people, in a family or in a village. And you aremaking a difference in that one life. Your gifts are producing incredible fruit. Would you bepart of the rejoicing we share over one life that is saved by God’s grace?

Without you and other partners like you, we would not have seen God do so much.

For all the touched lives like Sokrat and Lena, Aamir, and Roth and from my heart, thank you!

“What man o you, having a hundred sheep, i he loses oneo them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go a ter the one which is lost until he fnds it? And when he has ound it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his riendsand neighbours, saying to t hem, ‘Rejoice with me, or I have

ound my sheep which was lost!’” L U K E 1 5 : 4 - 6 ( N K J V )

The little boy was working like aslave in a small hotel, waiting tablesclearing leftovers, wiping downthe furniture, washing dishes. Theowner shouted at little Aamir towork harder, faster. The days werelong and dreary and the pay wasdreadfully low. But Aamir’s fatherhad dumped him there to help thefamily make ends meet. Father wasalready selling homemade coffeeand tea door-to-door; Mother was amaid. But it wasn’t enough to feedfour children and two adults. Schoowas out of the question. It was toomuch money.

Then came Meera. By God’s graceshe crossed Aamir’s path and invitedhim to visit the Children’s Bible Clubshe was leading. Aamir was astonisheby the scene that greeted him there:children singing action songs, reciting

Scripture happily, playing games, listening to Bible stories.

Soon Aamir had made plenty of friends. He knew all the songs andcould re-tell the Bible stories to hismother at home. With the help

Bowing and kneeling before idols is something done ona regular basis by hundreds of millions of people a roundthe world. It is something children learn from theirparents. It is something people have done as children, learning it from their parents.

The idols of Asia can tower stories above the earth. They can be carved into the mountainside or t in thepalm of your hand as a gurine. They can be fashionedof wood, stone, silver or gold a nd can even dangle fromyour neck on a chain or string.

Idol worship is often accompanied by chanting, praying, the burning of incense and the giving of offerings. Whether idols are worshipped out of habit, culture, or sincere religious belief, it is the reality faced bychurch planters throughout much of Asia and especiallyin Cambodia.

How is it possible to break centuries of religious andcultural practice and start a journey of faith in God andin His Son Jesus Christ?

The story of Leat, who came to Christ in Cambodia inMarch 2010, helps us answer that question. Leat describesher life in this simple testimony: “Before I believed in

Jesus Christ, I was living in unhappiness. My husbandand I were always ghting with each other. I thoughtthat if I made an effort to do good, worship idols, evilspirits and statues, they would help me to have happinessand joy. But they couldn’t help me.

“You shall have no othershall not make for yourof anything in heaven abeneath or in the watersbow down to them or wEXODUS 20:3-5 (NIV)

“One day a woman named *Roth News in my village. She invited me

God and I agreed. She told me aboutsave my life from sin: he is Jesus ChI invite God to live in my heart and pday, he will help my family to live inhaving ghts with each other. God nlove to all people, so I decided to bebe the Lord and Saviour of my life.

“Since I believed in Jesus Christ mchanged. God has forgiven all my sinthe past. Already two of my neighbointerest about God and asked me, ‘Wbelieve in Jesus? What blessing havehim?’ And then I had an opportunityNews with them.

“I promise that I’ll follow Jesus foGod who forgives my sins, feeds mylife, and calls me to be his child.”
