Excerpts from The Blues Alive
MOSE VINSON Piano
II

"You can take a
blues song and turn
it into a church
song. It ain 't
nothin ' but a word. You got a true word in a blues song,
you got a true word in a gospel song. " Ed Ivey, Blues Rev iew
"Jimmie Lee Robinson . . . has a classy, individual style, from the way
he thumbs his Fender Coronado bass to the boots, spurs and cowboy hat he
transfixing the room. . . . Robinson 's voice came strong, deep and full of
wears every day.
His solo version of "That Lucky 01' Sun (Just Rolls Around
Heaven All Day)" hushed the capacity crowd, a collective electric charge
power. The man is a complete natural and has a wonderfu l onstage energy. "
