Baking Bread with Preschoolers
Recipe for 1 group
Needed Items:
Wheat flour, yeast, salt, sugar, warm water, oil
2 small bowls, 1 bigger bowl, 2 cups,
2 Table spoons, 1 tea spoon,
1 unbreakable thermos,
cloth, knife, cutting board, baking tray, oven,
hand washing facility, dish washing facility
Recipe for 1 group
Mix it together in a cup:
1 TS wheat flour
1 ts sugar
1 ts dry yeast
4 TS warm water
wait a bit to let it raise
Mix together in a bowl: 1cup (250g ) wheat flour ½ ts salt Stir Add : 1small cup of warm water ( 80ml) the yeast -flour-sugar mixture of the 1st cup Stir, then use your hand to make the dough When the dough comes off the bowl easily, place it in a smaller bowl, cover it with a cloth and wait for it to raise for about 1 hour. Oil a baking tray Divide the dough in 8 pieces, and form small rolls. Place them on the tray with some distance in between, allow to raise a bit more.. Bake for about 30 min. in the oven. Remove and let them cool.
