Our Nosy Rosy
The 2012 Klink Wine Tourism Yin and Yang Award for Best Food and Wine Pairing on a Wine Farm … the 2013
Great Wine Capitals of the World Award for Most Innovative Wine Estate in South Africa … no less than seven
wines receiving prestigious Robert Parker ratings of 90 points and more - when it comes to the accolades recently
garnered by Creation Wines, where does one start?
Let's start at the beginning. The story of Creation is as exciting as its spectacular setting on the lofty Hemel-en-
Aarde Ridge. Swiss winemaker, Jean-Claude (JC) Martin, and his wife, Carolyn (née Finlayson), upon discovering
their little piece of paradise in Hermanus, named it 'Creation' and set about taming the wilderness.
Taking every challenge as an opportunity, their first grapes were harvested in 2006 the quality was fantastic! The
custom-designed production and maturation cellar was completed in the next year and the opening of their
trendsetting tasting room in 2008. This was the first winery in Walker Bay apellation to grow and produce a
Bordeaux-style blend, the first producer in the area with a Grenache vineyard and the first to bottle a single-variety
Viognier wine.
Today, just over a decade after the first fledgling vine took root in the virgin earth, Creation clearly lives up to its
evocative name. Its portfolio of ten award-winning wines are characterised by balance, elegance, distinction and
finesse. It has also become one of the Cape's most sought-after destinations offering an exciting array of attractions
– from their famous Wine and Food Pairing to their unforgettable Vineyard Safari.

South Africa is cooling down - only in temperature. We have some seriously hot discussions going on - books and articles to read and
- events coming up.
The first wayward woman I ever heard of was at age 5 when my mother told me of Lady
Godiva who was so respected that no-one but "Peeping Tom" looked when she unambiguously protested against the taxes her husband subjected the less fortunate to. Fact or fable, it inspires the awareness of the difference it can make when we take action. Thanks Mom!
With mother's day coming up, I do wish mothers will tell their daughters more about the long road to women's voting history & fought-for rights. Please read about the Suffragettes. These women changed history for all and hopefully ever. Some Suffragettes links: UK Parliament & WikiPedia
Despite all the hard won ‘freedom’, read about how women sabotage themselves at work.
You know the story of 'If you want to run with the big dogs..."
Contemplating rights and how other people suffered for what we take for granted. Do you know what your rights are? Has a sheriff ever delivered a little unwelcome surprise to your door? You
can save and help yourself a great deal by knowing what the right procedures should be and be less of a victim to legal abuse and sue-happy villains.

Nosy Rosy Favourites
Recommended Wine Route of the month.
Print this digimag of our favourite wineries, venues and where to eat, drink & chill-
out. Wineries: Tastings, venues, accommodations and hospitality. Driving from Cape Town one can mosey past many alluring spots but keep going and only stops at Botriver for
Beaumont Wines, Genevieve MCC, Wildekrans Wines Then on the R43 just past the Kleinmond turnoff for Rivendell Wine Estate & Bistro
and on to the Hemel & Aarde Valley to rest your eyes on the vista and take wine at La Vierge. Heaven Restaurant is on the way to Creation Wines, Elemental Bob & Domaine Des
Dieux before your designated driver takes you to Tapas at the old harbour in Hermanus for balance, good vibes and great food.
From there on to The Original Deli for some out of this world Coffee and other wonders. Now the designated driver role can roll over onto the one who ate the most and you can
move on to the breathtaking tranquillity and earthy vibe at Stanford Hills If you get 'sshhtuck' at any point, there are lots of enchanting accommodations available.
This trip might have to be repeated many times before you get to taste all the great wines that are produced by these wineries. Even (or especially) if you have sampled them all,
you would want to repeat the experience.
Beaumont wines
Bot River
Beaumont wines is a family business that focuses on producing hand crafted wines that capture
the essence of their Bot River terroir. The Beaumont Family bought the farm nearly 40 yrs ago and
have revitalised the 100 yr old wine cellar to produce world class wines.
We specialise in cool climate Chenin Blanc with a crisp fresh unwooded style and our famouse
Hope Marguerite(winner of 3 Platter 5 star ratings). While our reds focus on producing a deliciouse
Pinotage, a Shiraz/Mourvedre blend and the flagship red blend Vitruvian.
The farm dates back to the 1750's and has a historical charm that can only be appreciated when
visiting the farm. Visitors are offered personal tasting and cellar or Mill tours on request. The 200
year old water mill has been restored to working order and stone ground flour can be purchased.
As part of our wine experience we celebrate with a few special events throughout the year. These
include Special Releases of new vintages of our flagship wines, Port Stomping, Spring and Open
Garden weekends and gourmet winter lunches in our barrel cellar.
There are also beautiful spaces to utilise for intimate personal weddings and private functions.
Two selfcatering cottages are available for those looking for a quite break. One can make the most
of the open landscapes of the Overberg by going on beautiful hiking, horse riding and mountain
biking trails on the farm.
