What Is SMS Marketing?

• Its the fastest, most convenient way to communicate with potential customers: via their cell phones.

Important Jargon

• SMS: Short Message Service, more commonly known as a “text message”.

• Keywords: The unique identifiers of your text message campaign. This goes in the “message” field.

• Short Code: A static 5 digit “phone number”. This goes in the “to” field.

• Opt-In: When a customer willingly joins your text message marketing campaign

Offer coupons, specials and deals

Ask customers to text for more information on a specific model on the lot, such as price or mileage

You market your keyword and shortcode on POS displays, newspaper ads, radio, television, etc.

You capture the cell phone number of the contacts and they are automatically saved in the platform.

Customers see your campaign and send a text message. They instantly receive a message back.

3We will start you off with three unique keyword phrases for opt in campaigns. These usually combine Your Name with either a descriptive word or a number appended to the end.

115The campaign responses can include up to 115 characters of text, spaces, and punctuations. We will craft these messages for you, as long as you give us direction on what campaigns to run.

Examples:

Thanks for texting BMW of Faketown. Show this text to redeem a free oil change. Expires 11/6/2011, valid once.

You must send over any artwork that’s required for compliance or branding.

Part 2: Service

You schedule on the built in calendar when the customer is due to receive a text message.

You add customers into the database or have them opt in to send them messages.

The customer can answer your text with a confirmation, and you can continue to communicate easily by text message.
