OverviewThemodel 2WIRE-AS3, 2Wire Auto Start generator controller is ready to usewith your P and S series PRAMAC PortableGeneratorsthatarefittedwiththeCONNremotecontrolconnectorplug.ThiswillenableyoutouseyourPramacGeneratorinvariousapplicationslikeStandaloneSolarandStandbyEmergencyPowerwithanATS(autotransferswitch).

InstallationNOTE:PRAMACGeneratorssuppliedwiththe2WIRE-AS3canstartautomaticallyatanytime.Forsafeoperationweadvisethegeneratorisclearlylabelledadvisingthat,“Generatormaystartatanytimewithoutwarning”.Turnthekeyoffpriortorefuelling,maintenance or storage.Also ensure that the generator is installed in awell-ventilated area, ensuring exhaustgasesarenotrecycledbackintotheengineorwherefumescouldcauseharmtopeopleoranimals.

The 2WIRE-AS-3 comes pre-wired, making it ready to plug into your PRAMAC Generator. The control plug will connectdirectly into the Pramac CONN Remote Control connector plug on the P & S series Portable Generators. It also comesstandardwitha3pindomesticplugtopthatispluggedintoyourgeneratoroutputsocketorhardwiredintothegenerator,givingthecontrollertherequiredgeneratorvoltagefeedback(NOTE;mustbeinstalledforcontrollertooperatecorrectly).Ifthe 230 volt feedback wire is required to be hard wired, just cut the plug off and hard wire it to a suitably protectedgeneratoroutputcircuit.The2WIRE-AS3canalsostartthegeneratoroffa12voltDCsignal,youjusthavetomovetheflexinto the Auto 12v terminals inside the controller enclosure. Due to there being a small load on the battery when thecontrollerisinAUTOmode,abatterychargerisalsoprovidedtokeepyourbatteryinafullychargedstate.Justconnectthesuppliedbattery chargerdirectly to thebattery terminalsusing suitable electrical connectors. Youcanalsousea suitablesmallsolarpanelregulatedchargerpluggedintothesamesocket.

OperationTooperateyour2WIRE-AS3controller, simply connectasaboveand turn thegenerator key tothe ‘ON’position.The LCDscreenonthecontrollerwillpowerup,allowingyoutoeithermanualstart/stopthegeneratororactivateAUTOmode.Tomanually start the generator you can either use the key on the set, or simply press theGREEN start button . Thiswillinitiate the start sequence of the controller,with a small delay before the generator starts to turn over. If there are anyproblems, and the generator fails to start, an error codewill appear on the LCD panel. Your generator has been factorychecked&tested,butifyouhaveanyproblems,itisrecommendedtodotheinitialstartupusingthekeystart.Tostopthegenerator,presstheREDStopbutton .Thiswillinitiatethestopsequence,butthegeneratorwillnotshutdownstraightawaydueto30secondcooldowncycle.Choke:ThesystemautomaticallyengagesthechokeduringthestartingcyclewhichworksforthePETROLmodels.Tosetthecontrollertostart fromthe2wireor12voltsignalautomatically,simplypressthemiddleAUTObutton .TheLEDindicatorabovetheAUTObuttonwillilluminateshowingyouthatitisinAUTOmode .Asnotedabove,pleasemakesurethatyouhavea12voltbatterychargersourceconnectedintooffsetthesmallloadonthebatterywhileinAutomode.Oncethecontrollerhasreceivedthestartsignalthere isashortdelaywhilethecontrollergoesthroughitsstartsequence.Oncethecontrollerreadsavoltagefromthealternator/generatorfromthefeedbacklead,itwillcompletethestartcycleandkeepthegeneratorrunninguntilthestopsignalisreceived.Oncethe2wireor12voltrunsignalisremovedthegeneratorwillgointothestopmode,witha30secondcooldowndelaymeaningthegeneratorwillnotstopstraightaway.
