What
does your
startup do?
With India touted to be one of the leading candidates to become the next super power by the
pundits, there has never ben more need for young leaders. Youth represents modern India,
young mindsets, young visons and new perceptions. There is a great burst in the youth to be
more involved in social issues. The youth today feels an urge to speak up, to stand
by itself and its beliefs and ideals.
Here, Aufklaren is trying to create platforms to bring the youth forward by providing the youth
responsible mediums to put forth their ideas. The company strives to connect the youth of this
county and empower them by educating them about current Indian and International politics,
conflicts and crisis through organizing workshops, seminars and conferences. The motto is to
Spread Knowledge and Broaden Horizons.
Key Project: The Indian International Model United Nations:
An academic simulation of the United Nations and the Indian Parliament, this initiative has gone on
to become Asia’s largest such simulation with over 3000 high school students from across 17
countries and 42 cities in India take part in the annual championship conference in Mumbai. The
company organizes the same conference annually in 30 different cities across the country to enable
every student in the country to benefit from the concept without incurring expenses.

hobbies.
How is
your startup
different
from the
other
startups?
• The best thing about this start up is the fact that the youth is working towards empowering the
youth. All the work is carried out by 800 interns/volunteers between the age group of 16-25 years.
• In a mere time span of 3 years and with no additional financial help and with limited resources, the
company has been able to scale operations for its IIMUN project to 30 cities.
• Considering the unique nature, aim and mission of the company, we are confident we will be able
to build a confident young India and help forging leaders.
• An organization which can harness India’s soft power inside and outside the country.
How is
your startup
transforming
India?
We at the Indian International Model United Nations and Aufklaren are committed
to molding the most critical resource of India, the youth. In a world with decreasing
fissiparous tendencies and a place which is increasingly becoming one global village,
it is quintessential that the students are taught about things that affect the world and
how people in different places react to a myriad of situations. To this end, we
simulate the workings of the United Nations and so also the Indian Parliament to
give the students by giving them countries and portfolios to represent and getting
them to discuss & deliberate local, national and international issues. Thus enabling
our future leaders to catch a glimpse of the world whilst they sit on the benches of
their high school classrooms.
The topics discussed at our conferences range from 'Reasons why India should get a
permanent seat in the SC' to 'Annexation of the Crimean Peninsula'. As we go about
educating the youth and planting the seeds for future diplomats of India, the aim is
to create a India where by 2020 every citizen will be in a position to understand and
contribute towards India’s external affairs.
We have in over 6500
institutes trained
300,000+ students in
Indian history, politics,
current and international
affairs.
