Primary Assumption
• ASWB members have within
them the wisdom and creativity
to think together in focused
conversations to create possibilities
for large-scale systemic change in
social work practice mobility.

Purpose• To synthesize and integrate new knowledge and
insight from Spring Meeting sessions on mobility by
exploring, through dialogue, a series of questions
that matter
• To make new discoveries and cultivate ideas that
will create tipping points for change in social work
practice mobility
• To guide the ASWB Board in setting a direction for
social work practice mobility

World Café Process
• Small groups of people assigned to 6 tables per
breakout room
• A table host will facilitate table discussion on an
identified question (20-25 minutes)
• Each table host will then move to the next table for
further exploration of the question

• Three rounds of discussion in total
• Each table will explore three different
questions
• All six questions will have been explored
three times by the conclusion of discussions

• Focus on what matters.
• Contribute your thinking.
• Speak your mind and heart.
• Listen to understand.
• Link and connect ideas.
• Listen for insights and deeper questions.
• Play, doodle, draw at your table as ideas emerge
• Have fun!

• Table participants will not change tables;
table hosts will move to new tables for each discussion round.
• Listen for the gong to signal when it is
time for the next round.

• Table hosts will meet to merge their notes from the discussions
• Table hosts will prepare feedback to be shared with the full group in town-meeting style during the World Café Summary session.
