Biography Lincoln was born February. 12 1809 Born in a log cabin Hardin county, Kentucky Lincolns mother died in 1818. He wanted to be a lawyer

Biography continued.. He was married to his wife Mary Todd. He had 4 sons Robert Todd Lincoln ,

Edward Baker Lincoln. William Wallace Lincoln, and Thomas Tad Lincoln.

Other interesting facts He was the first president to get

assassinated He created a national banking system He was very depressed He patented a system to alter buoyancy of

steamboats in 1849. He was the first president to have a beard.

Wrestling He liked to wrestle on his free time. Wrestling was also known as catch-as-

catch-can. He was entered in a tournament by his

boss without him knowing.

Wrestling continued… he wrestled Jack Armstrong in the

tournament in Marion county. Jack started kicking and punching and

lincoln picked him up and threw him to the ground knocking him unconscious.

He became county champion wrestler twice, once in Indiana and Illinois.

Election In 1860, Lincoln made his first political

appearance. He was listed in the election as a

republican when he won, he made his strongest rivals

his cabinets

Our American cousin It is a comedic play. The plays most famous performance was at

fords theater in Washington, D.C. Lincoln went to visit the play on April 14 of

The murderer John Wilkes booth was a member

of the nineteenth century booth theatrical family from Maryland.

He was a very popular actor Booth and a group of co-

conspirators he led planned to kill Lincoln.

The tragedy On April 14, 1865 he was attending a

performance of the comedy our American cousin.

He was there with his wife and children He was shot in the back of the head by

booth. He died the next day at 7:22 am.

Memorial In Washington D.C. Statue of him sitting in a chair. He faces towards the reflecting pool. On may 30, 1922 the building was

dedicated to Lincoln. Statue is made of bronze.
