Asparagus & Prosciutto Wrapped in Puffed Pastry!
This easy and elegant appetizer melts in your mouth with Asparagus, Prosciutto, Garlic, Parmesan and Pastry in every bite!
Prep time: 25-30 minutes
One Package of Puffed Pastry yields 18 servings

Ingredients – 18 Servings
1 package puffed pastry
36 fresh asparagus spears
9 slices of Prosciutto
1/2 cup butter
2 finely chopped garlic cloves
1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan or Asiago cheese
Salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning
Step 1 - Prepare Ingredients
Trim woody ends and lightly steam asparagus spears (3-5 minutes or until spears are dark green, tender and firm)
Put spears immediately on ice to stop cooking process
Melt butter with chopped garlic approximately 15 seconds
Cut prosciutto strips into thirds to create 2x2 squares
Cut pastry sheets into squares (9 equal squares per sheet)
Step 2 - Assemble, Spice & WrapBaste one side of pastry square with garlic butter
Lay one piece of prosciutto on buttered pastry square
Lay two asparagus spears diagonally over prosciutto
Season lightly with salt, pepper and Italian seasoning
Add a teaspoon or so of shredded Parmesan or Asiago cheese
Wrap puffed pastry square firmly around asparagus and prosciutto beginning with outer corner. Asparagus should extend outside of the wrap as shown.

Step 3 – Bake & Serve
Place wraps with overlapping ends facing down on a cookie sheet covered in foil or parchment
Bake in hot oven (400 degrees) for 15-20 minutes until golden crisp on the outside and cooked through on the inside
Serve immediately or at room temperature
