STREET ART MUSEUM AND ART GALLERY AT 5 POINTZ

Site: 5 Pointz, Long Island City, NY 5 Pointz is widely known as a hot spot for graffiti artists and enthusiasts. Located in Long Island City, the building is a short walk from subway trains, buses, small galleries and MOMA PS1. This old warehouse is covered top to bottom in street art which can be seen by passing trains on the elevated platform as well as pedestrians.

Mission: The Street Art Museum and Gallery will allow the public to view street art as never before. Guests are thrown into urban life from the moment they step onto the grounds where they are surrounded by skateboarders and colorful graffiti only to enter a building where the architecture itself serves as a canvas for creative artists. Visitors can enjoy a different experience with each visit as the museum will change over time just as the street art in the surrounding area. The museum also serves as an auction house and learning facility to give street artists the knowledge and resources they need to turn their talent into income.
