Honor Before Grades

Seriously, do not worry about your grade.

Unless…

You have attendance issues, do not complete work (on time or satisfactorily) , and/or show little, if any academic growth.

On-Time

• Too many of you are arriving late to class.• Stop insulting me.• Move faster.• Talk less in the halls.• Be seated BEFORE the bell rings.• I may lock the door and assign hallway work.• You have been warned.

You will be dismissed from class when you do any of the following:

• Have a side-conversation during instructional time.

• Put your head down.• Complete work not affiliated with this class.• Forget to turn off your phone.• Texting on your phone.

Preparation

• I have NOT been talking out of my butt.• You are supposed to read the chapters

BEFORE you come to class.• Monday’s Unit IVc Exam (Chs. 16, 4, 5) will

NOT be curved.• Neither will Unit V (Chs 17, 19, 20)

Missing Assignments

• Late work will NOT be accepted for ANY reason.

• The only exception is if you have an EXCUSED absence.– Upon your return, you will submit your work

(unless we have discussed the matter beforehand)

Honesty

• I only ask that you be honest with me at all times. I have NOT lied to you, and never will (unless deception is necessary for the lesson goal).

• Please submit only YOUR work, and even then only your best effort.

• In exchange, I will go very easy on you Q4.

Pick up BOTH handouts• Brown v. Board of Education– Annotate in class: Only the MOST IMPORTANT• (I picked only 2 paragraphs and one phrase)

• Free Speech vs. Civil Discourse– Read on your own time

• Video: SD Civil Rights– Take Notes– You WILL turn them in at end of class
