Before I graduate…

• Think about one lofty goal or aspiration

you’d like to achieve before you walk

across that stage in May.

• Write it neatly (in marker) on the slip of

paper I’m giving you today. Bring with you

next class. We’ll share.

• They’ll go on a bulletin board in the room

so we can keep those sentiments in mind

all year.

Letter…

• I’m passing out my introductory letter to

you. Take a few minutes to read through it

and then think about the letter you’ll write

to me.

• You’ll notice the three poems I’m giving

you as well. As the letter says, please take

some time to immerse yourself in these

poems. Write all over them, and let them

speak to you.

For next class…

• Bring me a hard copy of your letter.

• It can be handwritten or typed, just no

digital copies, please.

• Bring your copies of the poems back and

be ready to discuss them.

• How to Read Lit Like a Professor study

guide will be due Mon 8/19 (M) / Tues

8/20 (G). You’ll submit through

Classroom.

SENIOR JOURNEY

• Choose an image that reflects how you feel about embarking on this year’s journey.

• After you pick an image, think about HOW it coincides with your feelings. Take a few minutes to really think about how the one you chose aligns with your complex emotions about senior year.

• Be ready to share these out next class.
