AnnualReport2016-2017
InternationalFoundationforCrimePreventionandVictimCare
MessagefromFounderandManagingTrusteeDear Friends I am humbled and equally proud to witness the long 16 years journey of PCVC. We have come a long way from our vision of enabling violence free lives for women and children. The year has seen its ups and downs. Like always we celebrate our successes, take lessons from our failures and continue to move with even longer strides. The greatest challenge has been to sustain our burn rehabilitation programme. We have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to conduct a 4-state research with an aim to develop a new system of support for women survivors of burns due to violence. We launched the ‘Beyond Burns-Surviving to Thriving’, a psychosocial handbook for practitioners and police makers empowering women burn survivors, in 5 languages and also announced the launch of National Support line for Women Burn Survivors. I want to say a very special thank you to all our donors for joining us in our journey to make change possible in tolerating violence against women. You helped us with time, money and resources to keep our lights on. I am happy to present to you our 2016-2017 annual report. I take this opportunity to thank our board for their relentless support. I bow to the women and children who have made us proud by choosing not to choose violence in their lives. To all our supporters, foundations, trusts and individuals we hope you continue to rest your faith in us and pave the way to realise our vision. Every day there is more work to be done, new battles to be fought, but we’re encouraged knowing we have you on our side. In solidarity for violence free communities
