Proven Performance Amodel® polyphthalamide (PPA) has replaced die-cast aluminum in engine cooling systems for over 20 years and is routinely used in under-the-hood applications where heat, humidity and chemical resistance are major considerations.
Similar to polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), Amodel® PPA offers excellent dimensional stability in corrosive, high-temperature environments along with better fatigue and impact resistance, superior strength at 130 °C (266 °F) after prolonged exposure to engine coolants, and faster molding cycle times.
Undercut DesignsAmodel AS grades are unique among high-performance plastics in their ability to mold undercut designs. Simplified mold designs can reduce tooling costs associated with parting lines.
