Charter Arms Selects PMI and W.L. Carter to Represent
Firearms Product Line
Charter Arms
Shelton, CT --(Ammoland.com)- Charter Arms, manufacturer of
American-made affordable and reliable revolvers for over forty-six years,
has named Professional Marketing Inc., of Starkville, Mississippi and
W.L. Carter Company of College Station, Texas as their latest
manufacturer’s representatives serving dealers and distributors.
Nick Ecker, president of Charter Arms revealed why he chose
PMI, saying, “I really admire Tom Wiley’s passion as an
entrepreneur and businessman in our industry. Charter Arms
has always had a very strong following in the southeast states
and now with Tom and his team, they will broaden our reach
to bring Charter Arms directly to neighborhood shooting
sports dealers and distributors in the southeast.”
Tom Wiley, president of Professional Marketing, Inc., said,
“In recently visiting the Charter Arms factory, I was
impressed how the employees take great pride in their work
and the sense of family spirit that permeates the plant.
‘Whatever it Takes’ is our company philosophy and with that
approach we believe we will grow sales and profits for our
clients while maintaining professional and ethical principles.
That philosophy aligns itself perfectly with Charter Arms’
tradition and Charter’s terrific customer service.”
Nick Ecker additionally notes, “The W.L. Carter Company
thoroughly covers, Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana and
Oklahoma, the TALO states, which recently have seen an
increase in the number of new concealed carry licenses
issued. In Texas alone, there were more than four hundred
thousand people licensed for concealed carry at the beginning
of this year, and many of those newly licensed are women.
We’re expecting to bring our popular colored frame revolvers
to those women who want to establish their style while
carrying an affordable and reliable firearm.”
Tim Locker of W.L. Carter Company predicts, “Our team of
reps will be developing a regional marketing plan for Charter
Arms that will broadly expand its brand among distributors,
retailers and their loyal customers. We are excited to be a
part of the Charter team and proud to represent the industry
standard of American made revolvers. Seeing firsthand the
hand craftsmanship of each Charter revolver and the first
class customer service sealed our relationship. We will carry
that same message to our customers so they will better
understand the uniqueness of Charter Arms and their quality
products in today’s business environment.”
Founded in 1964, Charter Arms manufactures a full line of revolvers
made by professional, skilled American craftsmen in Shelton, CT, in the
heart of New England’s firearm valley. Steeped in rich tradition with
unmatched customer service, Charter Arms revolvers are consistently

Is The Rhino A Big Animal Or Weird Handgun
It’s Strange, New and It’s Powerful!
Rhino Revolver 20D
MKS Supply
Dayton OH --(Ammoland.com)- MKS Supply, Inc. The Rhino is a
totally new, ergonomically designed revolutionary designed firearm and
the Rhino looks like no other handgun and for several good reasons.
Shown is the 2-inch barrel version in matt electorless nickel
Yes, we know. It’s out of the box advanced design is a little weird looking
but it really is the first serious significant new revolver improvement in
over 100 years!
Why?
The Rhino fires from the bottom chamber (6:00 position). This is unlike
any other handgun. The low-barrel design shifts recoil in-line with the
shooter’s forearm and upper arm (No, it won’t crush your body; shatter
your arm; or lower your I.Q.; okay, it may do that).
The relocated barrel nearly eliminates shooter felt recoil and muzzle flip
and allows the shooter to fire incredibly fast highly-accurate repeat shots
from the hard recoiling and powerful .357 Magnum cartridge.
The unique Rhino trigger and firing control mechanism results in this
revolver operating smoothly (no hammer movement) and in a manner
very similar in operation to that of a semi-automatic handgun. Some
refer (not accurate) to it as a semi-automatic revolver.
The Rhino’s unique hexagonal flat side shaped (round) cylinder makes
for a thinner profile when carried legally concealed (and at these prices
this new hand made high-tech revolver will not be in gang banger’s
pockets).
The Rhino really is the new high-end high-performance Ferrari of
handguns. The Rhino was designed and made in Italy in one of the
worlds most modern hospital clean firearm factories.
• Caliber: .357 magnum (and .38 Special of course)
• Basic weight: Only 25-ounces with a 4-inch barrel.
• Frame material: Ergal (a special proprietary high-strength aircraft
aluminum alloy)Metal finish: Matte/brushed electroless nickel or
black
• Capacity: 6-rounds
• Barrel lengths and MSRP: 2-inch $799; 4-inch, $899; 5-inch,
$925; 6-inch, $980.
• Special feature: Military style Picatinny rail under the barrel to
allow for flashlights or laser sighting systems (rail is not available
on the 2-inch model). The 2-inch model comes with a handmade
Italian leather holster.
• Availability: As of early 2011 marketed across North America to
licensed FFL dealers.

California Sutter CountySupervisors Vote to Hold Off onConsidering Proposed Anti-Hunting OrdinanceMAR 22, 2011 01:32P.M.
California Sutter County Supervisors Vote to Hold Off on
Considering Proposed Anti-Hunting Ordinance
California Rifle and Pistol Association
Sacramento, CA --(Ammoland.com)- Sutter County, California: On
March 14, 2011, in a standing room only meeting, the Sutter County
Board of Supervisors voted to delay considering a proposed amendment
to a firearm discharge ordinance that would expand the County’s existing
ban on discharging firearms and archery tackle in certain areas to
include levees in the county.
The Feather River levees are popular hunting grounds, and the proposed
amendment would ban hunting there. The proposal apparently stemmed
from “levee workers pushing for the ban after encountering gun-toting
people on the levees who’d fired somewhat indiscriminately in the river
bottoms below,” according to an article in the Appeal Democrat.
National Rifle Association (NRA) and the California Rifle and Pistol
Association (CRPA) representatives attended the meeting, pointed out
problems with the proposal, and urged the Board of Supervisors to not
take the proposed action. After considering the impacts on hunting
brought to their attention at the meeting, the Supervisors agreed to work
with NRA, CRPA, and the hunters those associations represent to work
to protect hunting on the Feather River levees. The Board voted to delay
the proposal’s consideration to allow input from hunters rights groups.
NRA/CRPA lawyers are now studying the proposed ordinance to provide
input. The California Department of Fish & Game (DFG) is also studying
the proposal. Generally, the regulation of hunting is exclusively the job of
DFG and outside the parview of local government.
The Board of Supervisors will reconsider this proposed ordinance,
perhaps with revisions, at its April 26 meeting, located at the Sutter
County Hall of Records, 466 Second Street in Yuba City, at 7 p.m. Please
call the Board of Supervisor’s at (530) 822-7106 thanking them for their
willingness to work with the NRA, CRPA and hunters.
Sutter County Board of Supervisors
• District 1: Larry Montna
• District 2: Stan Cleveland
• District 3: Larry Munger – Vice Chairman
• District 4: Jim Whiteaker
• District 5: James Gallagher – Chairman
The simple but surprisingly little known fact is that hunting is one of the
safest recreational activities, and that sportsmen have been the backbone
of natural resources conservation, and conservation funding, for more
than a century. It has become far too difficult for the average hunter to
find a place to hunt in California. We must protect all the available
hunting lands that still remain, and encourage increases in hunting land
and opportunity. The numerous benefits that hunters contribute to
California, from stimulating local economies to being by far the largest
source of funding for wildlife conservation, should be encouraged, not
curtailed.
Seventeen years ago the NRA and CRPA joined forces to fight local gun
bans and local hunting regulations being written and pushed in
California by the gun ban lobby. Their coordinated efforts became the
NRA/CRPA “Local Ordinance Project” (LOP) – a statewide campaign to
fight ill-conceived local efforts at gun control and educate politicians
about available programs that are effective in reducing accidents and
violence without infringing on the rights of law-abiding gun owners. The
NRA/CRPA LOP has had tremendous success in beating back most of
these anti-self-defense proposals.

In addition to fighting local gun bans, for decades the NRA has been
litigating dozens of cases in California courts to promote the right to self-
defense and the 2nd Amendment. In the post Heller and McDonald legal
environment, NRA and CRPA Foundation have formed the NRA/CRPA
Foundation Legal Action Project (LAP), a joint venture to pro-actively
strike down ill-conceived gun control laws and ordinances and advance
the rights of firearms owners, specifically in California. Sometimes,
success is more likely when LAP’s litigation efforts are kept low profile,
so the details of every lawsuit are not always released.
To see a partial list of the LOP and LAP’s recent accomplishments, or to
contribute to the NRA or to the NRA/CRPAF LAP and support this and
similar Second Amendment cases, visit www.nraila.org and

About:
The California Rifle and Pistol Association “CRPA,” founded in 1875, is
dedicated to defending the rights of law-abiding citizens to responsibly
use firearms for self-defense and the defense of their loved ones, for
sport, and for all other legal activities. CRPA is the official state
association of the National Rifle Association. A California non-profit
association, CRPA is independently directed by its own Board of
Directors. CRPA’s members include law enforcement officers,
prosecutors, professionals, firearm experts, the general public, and
loving parents. CRPA has always worked to reduce the criminal misuse
of firearms and firearms accidents, while actively promoting and
organizing the competitive shooting sports and Olympic training
programs in California. We are proud to say that many CRPA

Pennsylvania Schools Qualify For NASP National

Pennsylvania Game Commission
UNIVERSITY PARK, Centre County –-(Ammoland.com)- Excessive
rain and localized flooding may have impacted the number of students
who attended the recent National Archery in the Schools (NASP) 2011
State Tournament on March 11, but it certainly didn’t damper spirits,
according to Pennsylvania Game Commission officials, who hosted the
event at the Penn State Multi-Sport Facility in University Park, Centre
County.
The top schools in each of the three divisions – elementary, middle
school and high school – automatically qualified for the upcoming
national championships in Louisville, Kentucky, from May 13-14. In
addition, those teams that meet minimum qualifying scores also are
eligible.
The first place team in the elementary school division (grades fourth
through sixth) was Choconut Valley Elementary School. The middle
school division champions (grades seventh through eighth) were the
archers from New Castle Christian Academy. Williams Valley High
School won the high school division (grades ninth through twelfth). In
addition, the high school division teams of Halifax High School and Blue
Ridge High qualified for the national competition based on their total
scores.
Also, 50 individuals who placed first through fifth in the male and female
category for each grade level of the elementary division (fourth through

sixth) and in the middle and high school divisions also qualified for the
national competition.

NASP State Tournament.”
In mid-2010, the Game Commission began coordinating Pennsylvania’s
NASP, which helps Pennsylvania school districts meet physical
education curriculum requirements of the state Department of
Education, while at the same time introducing them to the world of
competitive archery.
“Pennsylvania NASP has grown to include an additional 27
schools,” said Julie Imes, Game Commission Outreach
Coordinator, who oversees NASP for the agency. “We are
going to continue to work with school districts across the
state to enroll more schools in the program, and we hope to
see even more participants at next year’s competition.”
According to figures from NASP, 30 percent of students who participate
in the archery program indicate that they are more interested in other
shooting sports since taking the archery program in school. Also, more
than half of NASP participants indicated that they wanted to continue
target archery and 56 percent wanted to try archery hunting, which has a
direct relationship to the Game Commission’s mission to recruit and
retain hunters.
“From the Game Commission’s perspective, NASP® is a win-
win situation,” Imes noted.
Started in Kentucky, in 2002, NASP has spread throughout the United
States, and is now reaching around the world. By the end of the 2010-11
school year, nine million students will have gone through NASP lessons
in 9,000 schools throughout 47 states, Washington, D.C., Canada,
Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. Tournaments are held at the
state, national and international levels.
NASP is a joint venture that partners with state education and wildlife
management agencies and archery equipment manufacturers and
organizations to promote student education, physical education and
participation in the lifelong sport of archery. The program’s focus is to
provide international-style archery training in physical education classes
in grades four through 12.
For more information on Pennsylvania NASP, visit the Game
Commission’s website (www.pgc.state.pa.us), put your cursor on
“EDUCATION” in the menu bar at the top of the homepage and click on
“PGC NASP” in the drop-down menu listing. To get NASP started in a
Pennsylvania school, contact Julie Imes, at the Game Commission
headquarters, at 717-787-4250. Also, “PA NASP” can be found on

restoring and ensuring wild populations and their habitats.
Although WMI’s methods and locations of operation have changed since
1911, it remains a small, nonprofit, scientific and educational
organization. WMI works mostly on request with federal and provincial
agencies, Congress, college and university researchers and educators,
other private conservation organizations and professional associations.
It advises, testifies and provides educational services on timely wildlife
and related issues. WMI personnel are highly educated and experienced
wildlife science and management professionals who work, typically away
from the limelight, to catalyze and facilitate strategies, actions, decisions
and programs to benefit wildlife.
Steve Williams, WMI president, said, “This award is a major
recognition of our long history, and of the many individuals
who served on our staff and worked tirelessly behind the
scenes to advance wildlife management and conservation.
Anyone who values wildlife would be honored to be
mentioned alongside Theodore Roosevelt. There isn’t a more
prestigious acknowledgment that WMI remains a critical,
collaborative resource for conservation today—and
tomorrow.”

Constitutional Carry Passed for Georgia Politicians Because
Their Life is More Valuable Than Yours
Georgia Gun Owners
Kennesaw, Georgia --(Ammoland.com)- George Orwell’s Animal
Farm reveals how politicians use the power of their office to grant special
privileges to themselves.
“All animals are equal, but some are more equal than
others.”
A buddy of mine over in South Carolina sent me an email reminding me
of one of Animal Farm’s lessons.
He heard that Georgia State Senators voted to give themselves
“Constitutional Carry” last week — and left gun owners in Georgia to be
processed and restricted like cattle just because you and I want to defend
ourselves and our families.
That is wrong. The Republicans in the State Senate are wrong…and the
gun lobbyists that concocted such a scheme should be ashamed for
selling out Georgia gun owners.
If you believe that ALL Georgians deserve “Constitutional Carry,” please
speak up.
Heavily-funded, anti-gun forces around the country, and establishment
gun lobbies, have joined together to oppose such freedom for gun
owners.
Soon after Republicans in the State Senate in Atlanta voted to give
themselves “Constitutional Carry,” a member of Georgia Gun Owners
contacted me with some disturbing information.
He indicated that his State Senator relayed to him that certain “deals”
were being negotiated behind closed doors between the House and the
Senate.
You could imagine how disgusted this member of Georgia Gun Owners
was.
He asked: “Are they back to their old tricks in Atlanta? Are
they playing politics with our rights again? The same old
backroom deals?”
You and I know the answers to those questions. Politicians have one
motivation: reelection.
Our elected officials need to know that the gun owners of Georgia are
just as important as politicians.
Our safety and security should not be relegated to “second class” just
because we haven’t won an election.
Afterall, you and I both know that most of us don’t have metal detectors
and armed guards standing watch when we go to work everyday.
Don’t let today end without contacting your elected officials in Atlanta.
Let them know that you support restoration of “Constitutional Carry” in

JPFO Launches “High Capacity Magazine Freedom Campaign”
by Rabbi Dovid Bendory, Rabbinic Director,
Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership.
High Capacity Magazine Freedom Campaign
Jews For The Preservation Of Firearms Ownership
Washington, DC --(Ammoland.com)- JPFO today launches “The High
Capacity Freedom Campaign”.
First, some background to highlight the hypocrisy and stupidity of a
high-capacity magazine ban.
Imagine you bought a Glock 17 9mm pistol a year ago. Your purchase
was legal and included two 17-round magazines. Now along come Obama
and other “common sense” gun-grabbers with a ban on “high capacity”
magazines.
The result?
Based on the so-called “Assault Weapons” Ban of 1994, a federal
mandate declares that after a certain date, the manufacture, sale, or re-
sale of ammunition magazines that hold more than ten rounds is now
illegal. Such manufacture, sale or re-sale will be a felony. This is how
AWB1 (and high-cap ban) were enacted.
Of course, there will be the usual exceptions for law enforcement and
military purposes. But Joe or Jane Citizen will find themselves felons for
*123456* Lineitem #123456, tabblo #1, page 13 (13 of 20), generated 2011-03-23 02:24:27.149850 on g1t0247, dpi=225

14
selling their 17-round mag. Depending on how effective the gun haters
are, Joe and Jane may even become felons for not turning in or
registering their magazines.
Next imagine that you, with your year-old Glock, are somehow found in
possession of a 17-round magazine. When it comes to guns in this
country, the government says we’re all guilty until proven innocent.
How are you going to prove that you didn’t buy one of those high cap
magazines AFTER the ban was instated? Do you have your receipt from
the gun shop? Did you save your receipt from that mail order house that
sold you a couple of spare magazines before the ban started? Even if you
are innocent, this is going to cost you. You’ll be a front page star in the
local paper, and your attorney will earn enough to send another kid to
college for a year.
Remember, a “high cap” magazine ban was an integral part of the 1994
anti-gun law. Some States like California and New Jersey still enforce the
high cap ban, albeit with oddly differing definitions of “high cap.”
In California, “high capacity” means more than 10 rounds, unless it’s a
.22 “tube” magazine, which is exempt, or if you possessed it before the
ban, in which case it’s grandfathered. In New Jersey, “high capacity”
means 15 rounds, though such a magazine is illegal even if you possessed
it prior to the ban and even if you have no gun to put it into. (in NJ If you
own a high cap magazine, it is against the law to sell it, destroy it,
posses it or turn it in, a complete catch 22 that makes you a felon)
Apparently in New Jersey, with 15 rounds you’ll be able to protect
yourself and family from the cocaine addict gang that breaks into your
home, but in California, 10 rounds will do the job.
Meanwhile, the police can continue to carry their 17-round magazines.
That’s another part of “common sense” gun control, right?
Question: Who is more likely to be on the front lines at the next
Columbine or Virginia Tech, the police with their large magazines, or you
and me with our 10-round limit? How many rounds do you want when
you are on the front line? Is the policeman’s life more valuable than
yours and mine?
Friends, as a Jew, I have a deeply ingrained distrust of any government
that promises it will “protect me.” The history of the Twentieth Century
teaches us that “gun control” registration schemes lead to political
decisions to allow some populations to protect themselves while others
are disarmed. Gun control is inexorably tied to malevolent citizen
disarmament. See: “INNOCENTS BETRAYED”
JPFO’s answer to all of this? The “High Capacity Freedom Campaign” –
“High Cap Freedom” for short.
What is High Cap Freedom?
JPFO now asks EVERY responsible American gun owner to, as soon as
possible, purchase at least one high capacity magazine. Even if you don’t
own a firearm that requires magazines, buy at least one “high cap” mag
for a commonly owned pistol or rifle. (It may even be one of the fastest-
appreciating investments you ever make!)
Why? Because we want the production of all those millions and millions
of magazines in the “pipeline” before any ban can take effect.
The surge of orders from “High Cap Freedom” will quickly flood the
manufacturers. You may not be able to get an original factory mag, but
soon reputable accessory manufacturers will begin making them 24/7,
and we’ll see new manufacturers enter the market. The result? More
magazine choices, at better prices, for all of us. More accessory choices –
and millions more existing high cap magazines in circulation before a
ban can take effect.
Help JPFO launch “High Cap Freedom”. Go down to your gun shop and
buy a “high cap” mag immediately! Get on the phone or your computer
and place your order with an accessory mail order house right now!
Welcome to “High Cap Freedom”, Phase One.
There’s more to come… JPFO will soon reveal our greater strategy.
Get busy! “ Freedom is not a spectator sport.”

Janet Napolitano Under-Exaggerating US BorderViolenceMAR 22, 2011 09:51A.M.
Janet Napolitano Under-Exaggerating US Border Violence
By Chuck Norris
AmmoLand Gun News
Dallas, TX - -(Ammoland.com)- After a decade of playing one on
television, I, along with my brother Aaron, was blessed a few months ago
to become a real Texas Ranger in the presence of Gov. Rick Perry, fellow
Texas Rangers and many others.
Perry mentioned at that induction: “As the drug cartels have turned up
the heat on the other side of that border over the past few years, we
have invested significant state resources to secure our border, looking
to local police departments, county sheriffs, game wardens and even
Texas Military Forces. However, when it was time to take the fight to
the bad guys, there was only one choice to lead our efforts, so we
formed our Ranger recon teams. It is reassuring to know that our
Rangers are on the job, especially in light of ongoing reports of
deteriorating conditions, with kidnappings, assassinations and
terroristic acts just miles from Texas communities.”
Only weeks later, on Jan. 31, Homeland Security Secretary Janet
Napolitano asked public officials to stop exaggerating claims of violence
on the U.S. side of the border and “be honest with the people we serve.”
She added: “Let’s stick with the facts. We need to be upfront and clear
about what’s really happening along our borders.”
The latest statistics show that 34,000 people have been killed in Mexico
because of organized crime and drug trafficking during the past five
years alone, and officials expect that number to rise. Yet we don’t expect
that escalating violence to increasingly spill over into the U.S.?
Consider just a few recent tragedies in my own state of Texas:
• In April 2010, on a street in Fort Hancock, Texas, four Hudspeth
County employees were working on a remote unpaved road, when
an unknown gunman fired from across the Rio Grande. (In a
January 2011 letter to the U.S. House of Representatives’ Judiciary
and Homeland Security committees, Texas Attorney General Greg
Abbott described the shooting as “yet another incident involving
cartel-related gunfire.”)
• In June 2010, El Paso’s City Hall was struck by at least seven shots
fired from across the border in Ciudad Juarez, the epicenter of
Mexico’s ongoing drug war.
• In August 2010, at least one stray bullet from Mexico hit a building
at the University of Texas at El Paso.
• In October 2010, U.S. tourist David Hartley reportedly was shot by
a Mexican gunman.
• In November, the University of Texas at Brownsville temporarily
canceled classes because of ongoing gunfire across the border in
Matamoros, Mexico.
And what about violence in other border states? Exaggerating border
violence?
I agree with Rep. Ben Quayle, R-Ariz., who said that for cattle ranchers,
the daily reality of drug and human smugglers traversing their property
is “far more impacting” than Napolitano conveys. Quayle went on to say,
“Statistics and averages might mean something to government
bureaucrats and analysts in Washington, but try telling the people who
deal with these realities every day that the violence along the border
has subsided.”
Because of the feds’ ineptness and passivity, it’s no wonder that half the
states in our union are taking matters into their own hands regarding
border enforcement and immigration.
Arizona-style laws have been proposed in approximately 24 other states.
A total of 346 laws and resolutions related to immigration were approved
by state lawmakers in 2010, according to the National Conference of
State Legislatures. More than 100 immigration-related bills are pending
in Texas.
Texas Department of Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples just
launched ProtectYourTexasBorder.com, where users can upload pictures
and videos about their experiences with suspected drug traffickers at the
Mexican border. The goal of the website is to warn the public about not
only the dangers to farmers and ranchers but also the potential impacts
on the nation’s food supply.
According to the Texas Department of Agriculture, at the
Texan border alone there are:
• Close to 8,200 farms and ranches, covering more than 15 million
acres.
• Producers of beef, fruits and vegetables that are essential to the
*123456* Lineitem #123456, tabblo #1, page 15 (15 of 20), generated 2011-03-23 02:24:27.206418 on g1t0247, dpi=225

nation’s food supply.
• Counties that account for about half the state’s fruit and vegetable
production and about 4 percent of the state’s total agricultural
income.
• Farms and ranches that make more than $700 million in
agricultural sales every year.
Exaggerating border violence?
The only ones exaggerating are the feds — under-exaggerating the threat
and severity of border violence and over-exaggerating their success of
securing the United States’ southwestern border.
In fact, this past Thursday, Napolitano continued her same Obama-
victorious-song-and-dance act at the U.S.-Mexico Congressional Border
Issues Conference, boasting of (as summarized by her office) the Obama
administration’s “unprecedented efforts to strengthen security along the
Southwest border, which include increasing the number of Border
Patrol agents from approximately 10,000 in 2004 to more than 20,700
today.”
But while the Obama administration continues to embellish its record,
PolitiFact pointed out that it’s actually stealing its predecessor’s glory:
“President George W. Bush was responsible for adding many of the
agents on the ground now.”
Paul Babeu, sheriff of Pinal County, Ariz., put it well when he said that
Napolitano’s talking points about security on the border have “more to
do with political pivoting for the 2012 elections than (they do) with
what is happening on the border.”
Ms. Napolitano, the truth is it’s you who is misleading the
public. Playing down border violence and trumping up
Washington’s successes may be effective for campaign
rhetoric, but it’s killing our citizens — literally.
At least I can agree 100 percent with you on this point: As you said back
on Jan. 31, let’s “be honest with the people we serve. … Let’s stick with
the facts. We need to be upfront and clear about what’s really
happening along our borders.”

Stop Doctors From Interrogating Children about ‘Daddy’s

SB 432 – FL Senate Committee on Health Regulation.
Florida Carry
Florida - -(Ammoland.com)- SB 432 is on the agenda of FL Senate
Committee on Health Regulation on Tuesday, March 22. Florida Carry,
Inc. urgently requests that you send e-mails via the links provided to
each of the committees members in support of Senate Bill 432.
SB 432 provides that inquiries by physicians or other medical personnel
concerning the ownership of a firearm by a patient or the family of a
patient or the presence of a firearm in a private home or other domicile
of a patient or the family of a patient violates the privacy of the patient or
the patient’s family members, respectively.
The bill also prohibits entry of certain information concerning firearms
into medical records or disclosure of such information by specified
individuals, provides noncriminal penalties, and provides for
prosecution of violations, etc.
Primarily, but not limited to the American Academy of Pediatrics, had
made the banning of handguns a priority under the guise of a children’s
safety issue.
Not satisfied with merely providing household safety information,
doctors have been specifically asking both parents AND CHILDREN
about guns in the home, and have denied service to those who refuse to
answer.
A woman in Ocala, FL refused to answer her pediatrician’s
inquiries during her daughters routing physical checkup and
as a result was given 30 days to find a replacement
pediatrician for her three children. Not everyone has the
money, time, or transportation to find another pediatrician.
Firearm ownership information has been entered on patient
records, and has been released to unauthorized third parties.
A mother in Uxbridge, MA objected to her child being asked
about “daddy’s guns”, and stopped the doctor’s intrusive
questioning. Days later, she found out from a friend on the
police force that the doctor had filed a report about the
family’s lawful ownership of guns.
In fact, one of our own members was subjected to this intrusion. He
posted his experience here:
www.floridacarry.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=71#p913
There are exceptions in the bill for legitimate inquiries with regards to
mental health professionals and emergency situations, and there is
nothing that prevents a doctor from providing information on any topic
including firearms safety.
The bill merely prevents doctors from asking about firearms and then
denying service based on an answer not to their liking.

Texas Bill Would Drop Recoginition of Other States Concealed
Handgun Licenses
Contact and Stop Bad Bill HB 356.
Texas State Rifle Association
Houston, Tx --(Ammoland.com)- Tomorrow, House Committee on
Homeland Security and Public Safety will be hear HB 356 in committee.
This means public testimony, if any, will be taken and considered. We
need your help!
HB 356 was filed by F rated, State Representative Lon Burnam (D-Fort
Worth). The change to proposed law states that a person’s concealed
handgun license issued by another state would not be recognized in
Texas if the person as established residency in Texas.
Snowbirds and other part-time Texans with an out of state concealed
carry license, who live at least part of the time in Texas, have enjoyed the
privilege of carrying with their home state’s license based on a reciprocal
agreement. If HB 356 passes this tradition would effectively end when
the licensees reaches the six month residency requirement.
You might recall as recently as two years ago, DPS was extremely behind
on processing new and renewing Texas Concealed Handgun Licenses,
and Texans sought out of state licenses. This was often required to be
able to continue to carry and no fault of the Texan. If HB 356 were to
pass the Texas licensee would find his out-of- state-carry license invalid,
long before it expires.
This would also be true for over 5500 Texans who opted to get the Utah
license. Utah certified out of state instructors to present and promote

their inexpensive, easy to obtain concealed handgun license, to the
annoyance of other states. Utah lost reciprocity with Nevada and New
Mexico because of this practice of soliciting the Utah license in other
states.
This year the Utah Legislature passed legislation requiring a person from
a state which offers a concealed handgun license to have that state’s
license before obtaining the Utah license.
If HB 356 passes, Texans, your Utah license will no longer be recognized,
the license you obtained in good faith will disappear long before it
expires. Keep in mind, the basic criteria for reciprocity is the background
check.
Please call or email members of the House Committee on Homeland
Security and Public Safety and tell them to Stop HB 356. Rep. Lon
Burnam is F rated by TSRA and it’s a long standing F. He is not working
on behalf of gun owners or public safety.
