Nestled in the rolling hills of south-eastern Pennsylvania lives a quietcommunity of people. These folks, known to the outside world as "theAmish", have been building family heirlooms for over two centuries. The Amish, a deeply religious sect, areknown world wide for their old-world craftsmanship. They drive horse andbuggies and refrain from many "worldly trappings" such as electricity, tele-phones and automobiles.
The HomePlace Collection of products is built by a carefully selected group oflocal Amish craftsmen. Among the hundreds that we could work with, weonly feature products from those that best meet our stringent requirements:
• Painstaking attention to quality• Design innovation• Timeliness of production• Efficient, cost effective operations• Great value

About our products....Our promise of excellence...
I proudly bring you Suncast's HomePlace Collection - a family business with a history of woodworking that
goes back many generations. Although we are one of the leading national suppliers of fine-quality out-
door products, we have not forgotten our heritage. We promise to continue the legacy started many
years ago - a legacy of quality, integrity, honest business dealings, and value.
My father, who was my hero and mentor,
spent much of his life as an Amish crafts-
man. Although he passed away in 1983,
my mother and many of my Amish rela-
tives keep me connected to a simpler,
quieter way of life.
The HomePlace Collection by Suncast was
born out of the warm memories that I have
of the home where I spent my childhood days. As the youngest of eight children, I was taught early on
the meaning of hard work and the need to build quality into everything I do.
Basic pricing for individual units of various sizes is listed on our website. We recognize that this is a big pur-
chase, and we are committed to not surprising our customers with hidden costs. During the order process,
you will receive a price quote that details all costs involved with the purchase. We are sure that you will find
us helpful, friendly, and easy to deal with.
We invite you to check and compare other outdoor buildings in the market. Consider the quality. Consider the
workmanship. Look closely at the details. Then consider the cost, style, craftsmanship and affordability. The
HomePlace Collection by Suncast has it all. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to help you enhance your
homeplace.
Carl Smucker, founder
HomePlace Structures by Suncast is proud to
help make dreams come true for Make-A-Wish
children; we’ve worked with dozens of local
Make-A-Wish chapters across the country.
These seriously ill children are always delighted
to receive these tangible gifts where they can
dream, play, and simply enjoy life.
The HomePlace Collection provides a
variety of structures that add comfort, enjoyment
and function to properties nationwide, accenting
homes, parks, businesses and gardens. Included
are Play Products such as playhouses and play-
sets, Open-Air Structures such as gazebos, pavil-
ions and pergolas, and Enclosed Buildings such
as garden buildings, pool houses, garages and
sun houses.
Our Design Consultants are experienced with
helping property owners select the right products
and best prepare for their structure to be
delivered. Whether your purchase is for a
residence or a commercial location, we under-
stand that projects often involve more than
simply buying one item and placing it on site. Our
objective is to be clear about what is and isn’t in-
cluded in our offerings, all with an understanding
of your context. There are some things such as
site preparation which you will need to manage,
and the following pointers will help you make
thorough decisions.
Play ProductsConfirming your site:
Measure the proposed area where you would like to locate your play product. Note the length
and width of your space, and remember to consider the height if you’re placing your playset or
playhouse under trees. For safe play, allow at least 3-4 feet around the perimeter. The area where
the unit is installed should be level, especially for base units.
For playsets, choose your ground cover:
Selecting your ground cover is one of the most important and most overlooked safety features for
playsets. No matter how careful they are, children may fall! If so, you want their landing to be as
safe and injury free as possible.
We recommend installing one of these three types of ground cover: lush turf grass, 6” of bark
mulch, shredded rubber mulch.
Playhouse features and considerations:
The interior is designed to remain dry in inclement weather. These are complete structures that
include the floor, walls, and roof. Much like a real home, toys left out in one of our custom-built
playhouses will be safe, dry, and secure. Children can even play in the playhouse on a rainy day
without getting wet!
Each of our custom built playhouses reflect the quality and the expert workmanship of the Amish
men who construct them – the unit may be in your back yard long after your little ones no longer
play in it! The playhouse can then be used as a storage unit, garden building, small workshop or
craft station.
Not only do you have a choice of 22 different paint and trim colors, you also get to choose from 12
asphalt shingle colors. Most people match their playhouse colors to their existing home.
Open-Air StructuresWhen choosing an open-air structure, site location and preparation are extremely important. The
exact foundation preparation will depend on the size and model of the product you choose. You
may need to secure permits and ensure engineering needs are met for the placement of these
structures. We can provide you with engineering information on many of our structures.
Gazebo considerations:
Typical selection process includes this series of steps:
1. Select the shape – octagon, oval, or rectangle.
2. Choose whether you want a one or two-tier roof.
3. Add a parquet floor to a wood gazebo or a composite floor to vinyl, as desired.
4. Do you want vinyl or natural wood? If you choose natural wood, do you want to
upgrade to a clear wood sealer, or to white or beige paint?
5. Select your options and upgrades such as fancy spindles and fancy lathe-turned posts.

Pre-Cut Kits: Pre-cut kits provide the parts you need,
ready for assembly and packaged in the most efficient
way possible. All the lumber is pre-cut but not pre-as-
sembled, as is the case with the modular units. These kits
are delivered as a compact package on a pallet that is ap-
proximately 4 ft. x 8 ft.
Modular Kits: The modular kit delivery is generally one of the most cost-effective methods of delivery. This kit isbuilt in modular sections in our shop. These modular sections are then stacked on a single large skid andtightly shrink-wrapped.
Assembled Units: If the delivery site is accessible, our
drivers can bring the unit already assembled. The unit
arrives fully built, and our driver places it exactly where
you want it, using state-of-the-art equipment.
Please note that fully-assembled deliveries may not be
possible or cost-effective for all units.
Delivery and On-Site Assembly: These units are shipped
as either pre-cut or modular kits and are then assembled
by our HomePlace delivery crew on site. Our crews have
tremendous experience installing our products correctly
and in the least amount of time. Your Design Consultant
will quote rates based on the size of the project and the
distance from our warehouse .

Pavilion considerations:
Most customers will find themselves drawn to either one or the other family of custom
pavilions based on appearance factors. The Traditional pavilions feature clean design
lines and spacious openings and ceilings. The Renaissance pavilions include superb
design details such as arched headers and round columns. Either way, your HomePlace
pavilion will be a centerpiece of beauty even after enduring extreme weather conditions
including intense heat, wind, rain and snow.
The construction of larger pavilions introduce design considerations such as size of
posts, numbers of posts, and fastening systems. Some settings require pavilions that are
rated for specific wind or snow load factors. Our experience working with specific
engineering needs is a benefit to you, and our Design Consultants will work with you to
understand and make sure your needs are addressed.
Pergola considerations:
Typically the biggest decision in choosing a pergola is whether one prefers the gleaming
maintenance-free look of vinyl or the more traditional character of wood. Sizing of
pergolas is fairly flexible, and we often create pergolas to match the dimensions of
existing patios and decks.
HomePlace pergolas have elegant posts or columns, and a “just right” amount of inter-
esting superstructure “top” components. Your pergola will need to be secured to a solid
foundation, such as directly to concrete, or secured to a deck that is secured to its own
foundation.
Enclosed BuildingsThe HomePlace Collection of garden buildings and garages cover a wide range of sizes,
from the smallest Legacy garden building up to the largest garage. Whether you need
70 or 700 square feet, we can help you find the choice that is right for you.
Some of your initial decisions will probably include the following:
• Intended use
• Size of building
• Architectural style
• Number and types of doors and windows
• Inclusion of porch or deck
• Inclusion of partition or loft
Something to keep in mind when buying a garden building is what use the building will
serve now and years from now. Many customers buy a building which is used as a play-
house while their children are young, and then convert its use to a garden building later
on. No matter your use, you may want to start by identifying a few styles that are
appealing to you, and then work with our Design Consultants to fully understand the
features and benefits of particular models.
We will gladly answer your many questions on the phone or via email, and will create a
price quote for you to help you completely decide. It is an honor to work with property
owners across the country, and we look forward to working with you.
