All Together Now

All Together Now

A short definition“Co-production is a partnership between

citizens and public services to achieve a valued outcome”

(New Economics Foundation 2009)

All Together NowWhat’s needed for coproduction?• Openness - speaking and listening to each

other• Respect – for others views and responsibilities • Sharing – aims, expectations, resources,

responsibilities and power• Working – together towards those aims• Recognising - and overcoming barriers

What we’ve learned • We don’t always agree!• Don’t get bogged down in process• Do you really share the same goal?• Coproduction needs leaders • Coproduction takes a little longer – but you get a

better quality end product• Have ground rules and ‘spot checks’.
