Convention in 2005 and

ratified it in April 2006

• In 2008 the Albanian Iso

Poliphony was proclaimed

as a Masterpiece of

Intangible Heritage of

Humanity and in 2008

included in the

Representative List of

Intangible Heritage of

Humanity

• LEGAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE MEASURES

LEGAL MEASURES

• New Strategy on Culture • 5 national experts

• 1 international expert

• New law on cultural heritage

• A specific chapter related to ICH reflecting obligations of

the 2003, 2005 Conventions

LEGAL MEASURES

• An Action Plan for the promotion of the identity and

intangible heritage of cultural minorities was crated and

is in process of approval

• An Action Plan for the integration of Roma people was

approved in December 2015 , where a specific chapter

is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Roma

culture and intangible heritage of this community

• A specific chapter on traditional crafts is provided within

the Law on Crafts in the Republic of Albania

• “Show your culture” initiative –registering ICH elements in

video format and upload in the MoC page

CAPACITY BUILDING

• National training workshop held on 14-18 September in Tirana “Building capacities for the Convention of 2003 of UNESCO” • Workshop on methods

of registering ICH elements in video format , July 2015. Tirana

• 100 persons trained
