  Adverbs – words that modify verbs, adjectives or another adverb.

My Friend works hard.

When they modify verbs, adverbs usually tell how, when or where.

He ran quickly.

He ran yesterday

When they modify adjectives, adverbs usually tell how or to what extent.

Example:How happy is Mr. Oakwood? He is very happy.

To what extent is Ms. Terry serious? She is too serious.

Adverbs can also modify other adverbs by telling to what extent or how

Example:How does Johann Skate ?He skates very fast.

To what extent does Kaye understand German?She understand it extremely well.

ADVERBS DEGREE OF COMPARISON

-- are used when we compare one person or one thing with another.

 1.Positive degree. When we speak about only one person or thing, We use the Positive degree.

2.Comparative degree. When we compare two persons or two things with each other.
