2 Christmas Tree Festival – The Flower Guild are very pleased to report that as a
result of the Christmas Tree Festival they are donating £1000 to St Peter’s
Church. Very well done to all the organisers, sponsors and contributors.
3 On Sunday, 31st December 2017, there will be only one service in our Six
Parishes which will be 10:30am Holy Communion here at St Peter’s.
4 On Sunday, 31st December at 11:30pm our usual tradition of ‘Ring
Out the Old, Ring in the New’ will take place here at St Peter’s.
Everybody is invited to join us to celebrate the changing year.
5 Please be aware that Sunday 7th January 2018 is the deadline for all articles
for the February issue of the Parish Magazine. Please deliver your
copy to Sara Taylor at sarajanetaylor@yahoo.co.uk or deliver directly
to Provost’s House, High Street, Edgmond.
6 PLEASE NOTE: During the interregnum, I intend to keep the Pew Sheet running.
As I will not be receiving information from the Rector’s diary, I will be very
dependent on others sending me diary and notice information. I will also look at
the Church Diary each week (kept on the table at the back of the Church), so
please make sure this is up-to-date. Please send to me all diary and/or notices
to be included by the Wednesday midday at New House, Pipers Lane or email to
me at maureen.broom@btinternet.com Thank you. Maureen Broom
Four candles are lit
Leader: One candle for hope, the second for the prophets of the
Word, the third for John the Baptist who called us to
change, and the fourth for Mary who simply and gladly responded
to the call of God.
“Here I am” said Mary, “I am the Lord’s Servant. As you have spoken
so be it.”
ALL: God of the humble, we thank you for choosing Mary and for her readiness
and joy in answering your call. Help us to journey with the lowly so that
Jesus, born in a stable, may be born anew in our hearts. Amen

Thank you to pupils at St Peter’s School for pictures drawn for the pew sheets
during Advent
The Pew Sheet can also be found on our website at:

1 During the interregnum our first point of contact should be the
churchwardens, John Ingram (810337) or Chris Taylor (810880); then Revd
David Stokes-Harrison, (551117) if the wardens not available; and then the
Rural Dean Keith Hodson (750774), if Revd David Stokes-Harrison is not
available. For an urgent need of a priest then Revd David Stokes-Harrison or
the Rural Dean should be approached first.
