and confirms that each student has their agenda and binder.

3) Students with messy binders will report to the binder triage area.

4) No binder = loaner and infraction5) Students are also reviewed for dress code

Clothing or personal belongings with pictures and/or messages that infer or promote: Alcohol Tobacco Drugs Violence racism Sex death

Shirts/Blouses/Tops: NO low-cut tops, halter tops, spaghetti straps, bare midriffs, or inappropriate designs and/or messages on shirts, regardless of cover-up garments. Showing undergarments or cleavage is unacceptable. Bra

straps must always be covered. Tops are considered too low-cut if they are more than “4

fingers” below the collar bone. Shorts/Skirts/Dresses:

Shorts must have a minimum 3 inch inseam and be in good repair. No fraying.

Skirts and dresses must be mid-thigh in length. Tank Tops: Not allowed. All shirts must have a sleeve. Shoes: No sandals, thongs, flip-flops, open-toed, backless

shoes.

Wearing legging, tights, or hosiery underneath will NOT make this clothing appropriate.

Shirts: NO inappropriate designs and/or messages on shirts, regardless of cover-up garments.

Pants/Shorts: No sagging, extremely baggy pants, or extremely low-rise pants.

Sweaters/Jackets: No oversized clothing allowed. Hoods may NOT be worn in class.

Tank Tops: Not allowed. All shirts must have a sleeve.

Shoes: No sandals, thongs, flip-flops, backless shoes.

Sagging pants below the hips or that expose undergarments, boxers, or shorts

Pants/shorts that hang on the hips and do not sag.

Appropriate length

No hats unless you have a doctor’s note that states you need it for medical reasons.

Hats/Caps can be worn as sun-protective gear outside of class with a doctor’s note. Hats must be: Plain solid black, white or yellow or

Serrano logo only Worn with the bill facing forward/straight Removed upon entering all buildings

Knit Caps/Beanies may be worn outdoors during colder months, but must be removed in all buildings

Gum chewing is not permitted anywhere on the school grounds

1) May not be used on school property 2) School is not responsible for loss or

damage of these items3) Helmet is required at all times4) Privilege can be revoked at any

time

ACCEPTABLE USE

Cell phones must be off during the school day. From the first bell the last bell they are not to be used.

Absolutely No texting or calling during class

School Officials have the right to review the contents at any time if you are involved in any type of discipline, or if another student reports that you have been using the cell phone inappropriately.

Cell phones

First Offense: Report to Discipline Room; Parents contacted warning issued and noted

Second Offense: Phone confiscated until parents arrive to meet with an administrator; violation noted

Third Offense: Phone confiscated, returned to parents; you will not be allowed to be in possession of a cell phone while on the school grounds for the remainder of the school year.

We are young scholars who are here to learn and we cannot be distracted by cell phones

Behavior Expectations

Maintain 97% (180 days of school you can miss up to 5

days) Doctor appointments – afterschool Dentist Appointments – afterschool Optometrist (eye) Appointments –

afterschool Two minute passing periods- arriving late

to class will not be tolerated. If you are late to class, you must go to the

back office for a tardy excuse.

AttendanceAttendance

If you are late you must report to the attendance office to get a tardy slip. If you are absent please clear your absence with Ms. Patty in the attendance office.

Tardies/Absences

30 min. late to school is considered truant

3 or more in one year is classification for habitual truancy

Citations can be issued for Truancy

Truancies

Your time to enjoy, so respect it.

Line up in the appropriate line (outside or inside)

30 minutes – use it wisely (restroom)

Place your trash in the trash can.

Enjoy this time with your friends.

Raise your hand to be dismissed.

Listen to all adults on campus.

No running to the MPR (hallways breezeway)

No Student Zone: The grass field, beyond the benches, is off limits to students. No student should be found beyond this point.

Where are students allowed during lunch break? period????

The California law states that all students are responsible to the school for their behavior while they are:

1. on their way to school in the morning and while they are

2.their way home from school in the afternoon.If you violate any school rule during this time, you

will receive school consequences accordingly.

If you fight and you can receive a citation from the Montclair Police Department
