Online

ChatA kind of communication that offers a transmission of text messages from sender to receiver.

Social BookmarkingA service is a

centralized online service which enables users to add, annotate, edit, and share bookmarks of web documents.

URL(Uniform

Resource

Locator) It is the global address of

documents and other resources on the World Wide Web.

Streaming A multimedia that is

constantly received by and presented to an end-user while being delivered by a provider.

Podcast

A digital medium consisting of an episodic series of audio, video, PDF, or ePub files subscribed to and downloaded through web syndication or streamed online to a computer or mobile device.

VoIP(Voice-over Internet Protocol)

A protocol for transmitting the human voice in digital form over the Internet or other networks as an audio stream, instead of using traditional telephone lines.

Wiki A web

application which enables people to add, modify, or delete content in collaboration with others. Text is usually written using a simplified mark-up language or a rich-text editor.

The main mark- up language for creating web pages and other information that can be displayed in a web browser.

HTML (Hyper Text Mark-

up Language)

WWW(World Wide Web)

A system of Internet servers that support specially formatted documents. The documents are formatted in a markup language called HTML (HyperText Markup Language) that supports links to other documents, as well as graphics, audio, and video files.

Social Networking A platform to

build social networks or social relations among people who, for example, share interests, activities, backgrounds, or real-life connections. A social network service consists of a representation of each user (often a profile), his social links, and a variety of additional services.

Web Feed A data format

used for providing users with frequently updated content.
