SUGARCANE
Sugarcane can be infested by about 288 different types of insects of which nearly two dozen can cause heavy losses to the quality as well as quantity of the crop. An estimated 19% to 30% loss is caused by these insect pests. Among these insect pests shoot borer is the major one which causes a great extent of damage to sugarcane crop in terms quality as well as quantity to the crop.
