Cleaners based on NaTG
Sodium Thioglycolate (NaTG) is used in cleaners for:
– Rims
– Flash rust
– Concrete and marble
– Derouging
The big advantages of these kind of cleaners are:
• they are acid free. Thats why they are non corrosive for coatings, aluminia,
steel, concrete and marble.
• this cleaners are very powerful against the dust from the brakes and
against iron.

Step 1: Spray the rim cleaner on the dirty rim.
Step 2: If necessary take a brush. After a few minutes wash the rim with a water
jet.
The rim is free of dirt also at places which can´t be reached by the brush (inner
side of the rim).

Bruno Bock produces 3 different aqueous solutions of
NaTG:
NaTG 23: Not of interest for cleaners.
NaTG 46: Typical for rim cleaners.
NaTG 46 l.o.: Also typicall for rim cleaners. NaTG l.o.
contains an additive which gives the product a better smell.
NaTG l.o. should be preferred for this application.

Part II: Basic formulas
Typical properties of NaTG-based Rim Cleaners:
• pH-range 6,5-8
• NaTG-content 7-16 %w/w calculated as pure NaTG
• Higher NaTG-concentrations of above 15 %w/w are
beneficial if flush rust in on the metallic surface
