ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:Applicants will need to have aBSc or MSc (or equivalent) in afield related to genomics(biochemistry, genetics,biomedical science, medicine,microbiology) or in a stronglynumerate or computational field(computer science, engineering,physics, statistics, mathematics).Students should have a strongaptitude for programming anddata analysis. Non-native speakerapplicants will need proof ofwritten and spoken Englishlanguage competence.

The Genomics Data Science PhD training is a 4-year,structured PhD training programme.

Students can choose from projects across seven researchthemes:

• Methods, frameworks and infrastructure development for genomics • Genomics of common and rare diseases• Cancer genomics and precision medicine• Agrigenomics, smart food and nutrigenomics• Genomics for pathogen surveillance and control• Biotechnological genomics, including metagenomics • Population genomics

Students will receive an annual stipend (tax free) of €18,500, and for the first four months their accommodation is arranged and paid. Each student will receive a high-end laptop computeras well as generous travel, workshop, placement and publicationcost allowances.

We are currently recruiting 15 students to start in September 2019.
