A rallying cry for the unlike-minded

Every day we wake up…

To the sound of music we like

We have breakfast with eggs from “farmers who share our values”

“Look at me!

I share your values!”

Read our personalized

press

and discover and share

and comment the newswith our circle of friends-and-followers

we’re inspired to shop for what friends and like-minded people are shopping for

after work we can meet people who share our interests and values

and then take them for dinner in a place we know they’ll love

or we can stay home and watch a movie we’ll like

followed by the news we trust

“Creativity is connecting things.Unfortunately a lot of people in

our industry haven’t had very diverse experiences. So they

don’t have enough dots to connect, and they end up

with very linear solutions.”

Steve Jobs

What if all the dots come from the same place?

“no alarms and no surprises”- Radiohead

We put so much effort into designing

more and more ingenious ways

to tell a story

BUT WHAT IF WE ARE

FOOLING OURSELVES?

What if the story isalways the same?

#3: Media - Narrowcast

“Fox News and MSNBC […] show us the world not as it is, but as

partisans at either end of the political spectrum would like it to be.

[…] we are no longer a national

audience receiving news from a handful of trusted gatekeepers; we're

now a million or more clusters of consumers, harvesting information

from like-minded providers.”

Ted Koppel “The case against news we can choose”

#4: Media - Broadcast

“I just try to figure out,if I were to go to a party, what would everyone

want to talk about? And that is what I’d

want to write about”

Gawker writeron “Learning to love the new media – The Atlantic”

“We like the surprises we want”

Tony Robbins
