La posizione degli avverbi di frequenza è variabile! Può essere:
1. Prima del verbo principale:◦ I always eat at 7 o’clock Mangio sempre alle 7◦ Peter usually plays football on Sundays Peter di solito gioca a calcio di domenica◦ Maria normally sleeps at home Maria normalmente dorme a casa 2. Dopo il verbo to be (essere) dei verbi modali (can, may, will, shall, must) e degli ausiliari (do, does, did, have, has)◦ Susan is never late Susan non è mai in ritardo◦ My parents are often happy I miei genitori sono spesso felici
L’avverbio SOMETIMES può essere messo all’inizio o alla fine della frase:◦ Sometimes I swim Qualche volta nuoto◦ We eat sushi sometimes Mangiamo sushi qualche voltaNEVER rende la frase negativa e non ha bisogno dell'ausiliare. Altre espressioni di frequenza posizionate ad inizio o a fine frase sono: - each time = ogni volta che - every day/five minutes = ogni giorno/5 minuti - ONCE a day (a week/a month/a year...) = una volta al giorno(alla settimana, al mese, all'anno...) - TWICE a day (a week/a month/a year...) = due volte al giorno(alla settimana, al mese, all'anno...) - 3/4... times a day (a week/a month/a year...) = tre/quattro... volte al giorno (alla settimana, al mese, all'anno...)

LA STESSA STRUTTURA VALE PER GLI ALTRI GUSTI (animali, sport, generi musicali…..)
I CAN….CAN è uno dei verbi modali.
Il verbo CAN può voler dire POTERE o SAPER FARE.
Si coniuga in modo molto semplice:
SOGGETTO + CAN (can’t) + VERBO INFINITO senza TO
I can swim > Io so nuotare
She can’t speak German. > Lei non sa parlare tedesco
Per le frasi interrogative si fa l’INVERSIONE
Can you play the piano? > Sani suonare il pianoforte?
