EXCELLENCE Soviet Afghan War of 1979-89 exaggerated events of First Afghan War into highly inflated happenings , magnified a billion times. Firstly Britain was not defeated as the war was waged by a private English Companys army and some regiments that it had rented from British Army. Secondly Failure occurred because of (1) Lord Aucklands lack of military understanding (2) Ranjeet Singhs forcing company to advance via Balochistan Thirdly Companys force destroyed by treachery and by overwhelming numbers was a puny British unit 700 men and some 4500 Indian troops and not Army of Indus. AFGHANISTAN BECAME A VASSAL

OF ENGLISH EAST INDIA COMPANY Contrary to myth Afghanistans rulers accepted companys supremacy , renounced claims over Peshawar and other parts of India, surrendered foreign relations to the company and became 13 Lakh rupees retainer receivers of a private English Company. English company won strategically as Afghans dared not attack India when company was vulnerable in 1857 and another chocolate cream , weak British viceroy was literally pissing in his pants and willing to surrender Peshawar to Afghans. Two British company officers Edwardes and Abbott knew the Afghan character better thanks to First Afghan War. The event did not affect even the

English Companys progress as the company annexed Sindh in 1843 , and Punjab and Frontier in 1848-49. The events connection with Sepoy Rebellion is also sketchy and non real as the rebellion occurred because of far more deep social and economic reasons.
