DEATH OF JOHN LENNON

John Lennon was a musician who gained worldwide fame. He was part of The Beatles. He died from being murdered by Mark David Chapmen.

SANDRA DAY O’CONNOR

Sandra Day O’Connor was an American jurist who was the first female member of the Supreme Court of the United States.

It was The first ever TV music station.

IRAN-CONTRA AFFAIR

The Iran-Contra Affair was a political scandal in the United States. It came in November 1986 during the Reagan Administration.

ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT OF REAGAN

The assassination attempt of Reagan was in March 1981. He suffered a punctured lung.

Thriller was a 14 min. music video by Michael Jackson released Dec. 2 1983.

It is a cosmetic surgery that removes fat anywhere on the human body.

In the early 1980’s cocaine was brought into the U.S. People turned the powder into the name crack. Its was also easy for drug dealers to make smokeable cocaine in 1981.

Was a Korean Air Line Civilian airliners that was shot down by Soviet interceptors on the 1st of September 1983.

Sally Ride was the first American women who went into space.

The Beirut barracks bombing (October 23, 1983 in Beirut Lebanon) was when two truck bombs struck separate buildings and housings in the United States.

Crack cocaine is the freebase form of cocaine that can be smoked. It may also be termed as rock, hard, iron, cavy, base, or just crack.

Was a first team All American College Basketball player. He was selected by the Boston Celtics, but died two days later by a cocaine overdose.

NINTENDONintendo is a company located in Tokyo, Japan. The company tried some small businesses. Nintendo developed into a video company and became one of the most influential in the industry.

CHALLENGER DISASTER

The Challenger Disaster occurred on Tuesday, January 28, 1986. The challenger broke apart 73 seconds into its flight, leading the deaths of its seven crew members.

April 24, San Francisco resident Ken Horne, the first person to discover the AIDS case in the United States.

SUPERMODEL GIA

Gia was an American fashion model during the late 1970s and early 1980s. After she became addicted to heroin. She later became infected with HIV and died at the age of 26.

“BABY JESSICA”

Jessica became famous at the age of 18 months after falling into a well in Midland, Texas, on October 14, 1987. Between that day and October 16, rescuers worked for 58 hours to free "Baby Jessica" from the eight-inch-wide hole.

Michael Dukakis served as the 65th and 67th Governor of Massachusetts and was the longest serving governor in Massachusetts history. He ran against Reagan.

In 1988 The Soviet Union has signed an agreement pledging to withdraw its troops from Afghanistan.

During the 1980’s people were trying to find themselves they would be creative in their fashion. Guys wore makeup and had long hair. Girls wore layers of clothing and their hair was short.
