Items:Items: Frequency and Scrambling Code
Purpose:Purpose: Check the frequency and scrambling code for the verified cell is right or not. If it’s wrong, maybe the parameter setting or the Tx antenna installation have some mistake.
Method:Method: Setup the Agilent E6474A software, observe cell frequency and scrambling code from UMTS CPICH View window. Check the frequency and scrambling code for the verified cell is as same as planning.

Items:Items: CPICH RSCP and CPICH Ec/Io
Purpose:Purpose: Check the CPICH RSCP and CPICH Ec/Io for the verified cell is normal or not. If it’s abnormal, maybe the Tx antenna installation or the downlink interference have some problems.
Method:Method: In the Agilent E6474A software, observe CPICH RSCP and CPICH Ec/Io from UMTS Status View window. Check if CPICH RSCP is higher than -85dBm and CPICH Ec/Io is higher than -8dB.

Notes: The mobile shall be near the site
The CPICH RSCP and Ec/Io can be seen from scanner or Qualcomm mobile. Use the Qualcomm mobile to check the CPICH RSCP and CPICH Ec/Io.
When we use the Qualcomm mobile to check the CPICH RSCP and CPICH Ec/Io, the Io and Ec/Io shall be obtained, the CPICH RSCP shall be obtained through calculation: Ec = Ec/Io + Io

Troubleshooting: The problem recording list should be filled in and the product
support engineer should be encouraged to solve the problems.
Track the problems until they are solved.

Notice items 1: Test Point ChoiceNotice items 1: Test Point Choice
We should choose the test point where the CPICH RSCP of target sector is high enough.
The test points should be chosen near the site and ideally with line-of-sight to the site.
The test points should not be chosen under the site as the signal of other sectors of same site are also strong.

Notice items 2: Test Route ChoiceNotice items 2: Test Route Choice
The driving test route should connect the test points of the sectors. It is required that signals not be shadowed by buildings along the test route to avoid turning the test into a coverage test.

Notice items 3: Antenna Swapping Test PurposeNotice items 3: Antenna Swapping Test Purpose If the receive antenna crossed, the uplink diversity receive gain is loss, a
nd the uplink interfere is doubled. It will affect the uplink capability. If the RTWP is too high in nonloaded situation and no other interfer
ence, we can swap the Tx/Rx feeder and Rx feeder to check the downlink power.

Problem Example for Site Verification Problem Example for Site Verification
In site verification, following problems have been found Scrambling Code Setting is wrong: The scrambling code
from scanner and mobile is different from the planning After feeder swapped, the CPICH RSCP is 20dB lower
than before.

AnswersAnswers
Scrambling Code Setting is wrongScrambling Code Setting is wrong
The Scrambling Code may be wrong in RNC, check the datasheet in RNC.
If the Scrambling Code from scanner is the same as that of another sector in same site planned, maybe the TX/RX feeder is crossed to the another sector.

AnswersAnswers
After feeder swapped, the CPICH RSCP is 20dB lower than before:
The RX feeder is crossed to the antenna of another sector. In this case, the CPICH RSCP will be high in the coverage area of the other antenna. Check the connection between the feeder and the antenna.
