The book deals with the technic of using stainless steel for dental purposesand with the method of soldering by means of electricity. It is entirely prac­tical in its nature, describing the laboratory methods of constructing prostheticand orthodontic appliances from nonoxydizing steel. The orthodontic; appli­ances demonstrated are used in the Belgian College of Dentistry in Brussels(L 'Ecole Dentaire BeIge a Bruxelles), where Charlier teaches in the capacityof professor. The author's technic is highly advanced. Each step is stand­ardized, described in detail, and illustrated; the making of bands, the con­struction of main arches and locking devices, and the addition of various kindsof auxiliary springs. The electric soldering is done with a special dental solder­ing machine made by a Belgian concern, which manufactures a fixed as wellas a portable type. Their use is shown on both stainless steel and preciousmetals.

The book is written in French; it contains 243 pages, with 280 illustrations,and is handsomely gotten up.
