• Gaining well over ten years experience:

Construction Planning &

Management of Site Wide

ArrangementsGenerally, much construction work is transient and therefore the needs

of the site can change daily.

Many accidents that occur on site, can often be attributed to poor

planning, design and installation of temporary works.Source: CITB GE700C

In order to get things “right” the Principal Contractor must be provided

with relevant site information and suitable space.

Case Study – No.2Mark Royal House, Student Accommodation – Royal Avenue, Belfast City Centre

Challenges:

Busy city centre location.

Two elevations – Royal Ave & Donegall St.

with operational offices between.

Only access to rear courtyard was via a low

roofed vehicle ramp. Wouldn’t

accommodate anything bigger than a car /

small box van.

Space constraints for site set-up – site

office, welfare, materials storage, waste

segregation.

Traffic & Parking restrictions on both

elevations.

Challenges:

Very few!

Choosing a suitable location for the site

compound – to minimise moving as the

site ground works progressed.

Case Study – No.3Omniplex Cinema– Highfield Rd, Craigavon

Planned Approach:

Construction Phase Plan

Traffic Management Plan – still required a high level of control, due to the vast open areas of the site.
