Experiments

Your Name

Process

I started my magazine with a basic background using the rectangle tool to make a top header, I chose the colours red and white for the main colour scheme because it helps highlight the images and text used.

I then used Dafont too pick which font I want too use for the title and header, using the merge tool I created the title of the magazine. I also chose a sub heading using dafont again, I cut out the text using the magic wand tool so its clean and easy to read.

I then chose three albums which I thought would fit the title, and using the shape tool I made a back board for each image, making the albums stand out and so the middle image doesn’t merge into the white background.

The next step I chose an image of a widely known artist, and again using the magic wand tool I cut out the background. I placed the layer at the bottom so the image is behind the title and other text I am going to add.

Using the rubber and magic wand tool I cut out a contest sticker from a kerrang! magazine.

I then chose a main headline for the magazine using Dafont and the text on photshop, I used the stroke effect choosing colours from dave grohls shirt and from the main colour scheme allowing the text too stand out and blend in to the magazine.

The final adjustment I made for the magazine was adding several exclusive headers too add to the page. I used the stroke tool again so the text on dave’s face is readable.

Reflection

• What elements of your experiments will you include in your final product?

• From the experiment I will include the top header and contest sticker only choosing different story’s and I will try too design my own sticker.

• I will use a similar image and the same technique on the main image only more related too my target audience and initial plans.

• I would like too put the line of x’s under the exclusive title because I just think it looks cool and makes it seem more important.

• I am going to use the exact same title of 2-D again with caption underneath it saying “ the music that matters”.
