A Self-Guided Tour of Artists’ StudiosDuring Peak Hudson Valley Fall Foliage Season

ArtEast Open Studio TourOctober 19-20 & 26-27, 11am–5pm

Welcome to the 13th ArtEast Open Studio Tour! Celebrating its 13th year, the ArtEast Open Studio Tour will be back again this year. Organized by the artist participants, the award-winning art tour provides visitors with a rare and intimate look at artists in their creative environments. In many studios, you’ll have the opportunity to view artists’ works-in-progress and pieces they’ve been working on since last year’s tour. There is also the opportunity to purchase works of art directly from the artists.

On the tour there is a wide variety of disciplines and media ranging from fine art, ceramics, sculpture, painting, printmaking, digital art and photography to the applied arts including decorative and fiber arts. Each artist brings their own unique, creative process to the tour. Two new-to-the-tour artists along with one artist returning after a sabbatical round out the group of thirty artists on this year’s not to be missed Open Studio Tour.

Local pop-up events are planned in the area throughout the summer and fall leading up to the tour. Don’t miss seeing a few of the artists display their works at the Pawling Farmers Market over the course of 4 weekends starting in August. There will also be a kick-off show at the Beekman Library in Poughquag, NY for the entire month of September.

Yellow signs are the key for visitors to easily follow and locate the studios. The tour is held during peak Fall Foliage season in the Hudson Valley and the scenic roads that meander through this part of the Hudson Valley offer a unique and vibrant display of autumnal color. Enjoy nature’s color while driving to artist studios.

There is an active cultural community among the towns and hamlets including Dover Plains, Wingdale, Poughquag, Hopewell Junction, Holmes, Patterson and Pawling. Home to many artists, authors, actors, musicians, this region of New York has a wealth of talented artists who welcome you to their studios for an up close look at what they do.
