Forty materials are indigenized for BRAMHOS Missile and accepted.
3. Materials: Developed four strategically important materials viz.,
Polycarbosilane- It is a as multifunctional material and used for ultrahigh temperature applications in
the form of fibers, composites, monoliths, coatings and high temperature semiconductor devices.
Polyphosphazene Elastomers- It is also a strategically important multifunctional material and have
several defence and civil applications in the form of elastomers for cryogenic and fire retarding
applications and nano fibers for a variety of bio medical applications. It is an excellent solid
electrolyte for foldable Li ion batteries and also high energy binder material.
Novel Ferromagnetic Silicon Carbide ceramic material which showed ferromagnetism up to 600oC
and the ferromagnetism of the ceramic retained even on repeated heating up to 1400oC in inert
atmosphere.
Cyclopentasilane derivative having excellent tunable LED properties from UV to Visible range and
used to prepare Blue LED.
4. Technologies:
Melt spinning Technology- Successfully used for the preparation of strategically important ceramic
fibers (SiC and M-SiC fibers), ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene fiber, Polyphosphazene fibers
and PAN fibers.
Closed Cell Ceramic Foam Technology- Developed a variety of different poly type SiC and M-SiC
foams as refractory materials.
5. Conceptual Work:
Inorganic polymer (Polyphosphazene) is used as universal compatibiliser for the preparation of
single phase organic polymer blends of immiscible organic polymers.

Vision for the University:
To build successful, competitive and cogent atmosphere of any institution it is very important
to give emphasis on the Human Resource and Material Development simultaneously.
In the present academic environment, in general, we are working in a mode to meet our
requirements by extending national and international collaboration and system integration having
a rigid team and infrastructure which limits thinking or knowledge generation with in defined
boundaries though generating specialists. But due to globalization, now time has come to think
out of defined boundaries generating new knowledge and cutting edge technologies having
growth both on vertical axis to meet present needs and horizontally for sustainable futuristic
requirements.
A change in leadership attitude is also needed which should be entrepreneuring and competitive
and have ability to create vision and set strategy and competency for result. Apart from change in
requisite infrastructure and scientific tools, an organized structure is needed which should be
fluidized, challenging and highly incentivized for success. We need academicians who can think out
of box and can in turn drive innovation which should be synchronized with the DNA of the
university so that each and every person involved has the incentive to innovate and invent for
quality of product which may be in the form of students or research.
For an academic institution it is very necessary to maintain quality of teaching by giving
information about latest global developments and competitive trends. It is very important to
maintain session time schedule properly. We have to inculcate a competitive and skillful attitude to
our students. To update the knowledge of faculty members’, research scholars and students
national and international collaborations through academic tours, symposium, seminars and
conferences will be carried out. Bringing all these elements together a congenial environment will
develop where everyone will automatically drive to deliver and achieve best without any tension.
But above all, a leader is required who could divert the energy of the existing man power from
their conditioned habits to achieve formulated goal by motivation.
