ANIMALS

• There are many different species of wildlife in Australia. Marsupials are the most successful group in Australia. This group includes kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, Tasmanian wolves, Tasmanian devils, wombats, and many others. The platypus and the echidna are egg-laying mammals. There are also numerous different species of birds. Some of them are cockatoo, kookaburra, lyrebird, the flightless emu, and several types of parrots.

Shells and Beaches

• The major beach in Australia is Shell beach. At Shell beach it has variety of shells. Some of these shells can be found on local beaches in the area.

Hunting for Shells

• Shells can end up at different locations in many ways such as by the ocean, when the wave move around the water picks up the shells and washes it onto another border. Shells also move around when people tour. They pick up shells as souvenirs.

• Go to one of the local DMV beaches and see if you can find 3 Australian shells.

• Write down the description of them, and take pictures.
