Lesson-1 ARGUS-Installation:Option-Concept 1/2

l Running ARGUS-SW requires (unique) Hardlock and associatedOption-Files

l Up to version 5.2: parallel Hardlock is deliveredsince version 5.2: USB-Hardlock is delivered

l Multiple parallel Hardlocks can be plugged in a row on on the PC(e.g. ARGUS-HL, MapView-HL and AllAudio-HL)

l Only 1 USB-Hardlock can be plugged on the PC;plugging more than 1 USB-Hardlocks to the PC results that onlyone of them will be recognized (random which of them)

l Starting with MapView-version … and AllAudio-version …Only one Hardlock for all applications together is needed

Lesson-1 ARGUS-Installation:Option-Concept 2/2

l Inside the Option-file there is coded:- the associated Hardlock-nr.- the number, how often a device-driver can be loaded (default 2)

l There are about 25 different ARGUS-options, categorized todevice-drivers groups, measurement-modes, interfaces andextensions

l Options are needed on measurement-unit as well as on control-unit. As a rule of thumb:

- basic-option is required everywhere- device-driver-options are required, where devices are

(i.e. on the measurement unit)- measurement-mode and interfaces are required, where the

respective action is initiated see also document: Configuration and Licensing ARGUS

l ARGUS can be installed as application (start via desktop-icon) oras service

l service can be used for un-manned measurement-units, whereduring a PC-start/reboot ARGUS will be started automatically(without any operator-action)

l for unmanned station, there is also the possibility to start ARGUSvia the autostart-group of windows

PC-Time: Only relevant, ifGPS-device is available. Timeinterval at which the PC-timeis updated by GPS (starting at00:15)

Disk Usage: Maximum ofhard disk-usage for file-saving

Saving interval: time-intervalin which measurement-resultsarewritten to harddisk

Start Delay: Time-Delay forstarting ARGUS

SMS: Inside AMM, SMS canbe send

Lesson-2 ARGUS-Configuration:Measurement Unit Configuration (General) 3/4: Simulator

Simulator: for signalsimulation when deviceis in virtual mode. Notneeded for realoperation

Lesson-2 ARGUS-Configuration:Measurement Unit Configuration (General) 4/4: Alarm Settings

Only for SW-option AMM !

Save in AMM Log File: All Warnings, Alarms,Activity and Error messages of the AMM arewritten into the AMM Log File.Buffer Time: Messages which are older than thebuffer time are overwritten in the AMM Log FileForward Messages / Station:All Warnings, Alarms, Activity and Errormessages are forwarded to theControl Unit.Delay Time : The messages are transferred witha certain delay time so that messages can begathered. This prevents having to initiate thecomplete transfer procedure for each message.Summarize Messages: Only active for Save inAMM Log File. The messages are summarizedover the selected Delay Time to a single linemessage.

Lesson-2 ARGUS-Configuration:Transducer and Corrections 1/3

For Absolute Measurements the following Objectshave to be taken in account :

Transducer Factor of theselected Antenna

Correction FactorNo. of Connectors DC-Feeder,Filters, Attenuators, LightningProtectors and cables typesbefore the Switching Matrix

No. of Connectors cables andFilters after the SwitchingMatrix

RF

RF

Lesson-2 ARGUS-Configuration:Transducer and Corrections 2/3

l Using the ARGUS-Table-Wizard is the easiest way for generatingTransducers and Corrections

The Path Correction must be generated before the deviceconfiguration stage

The Transducer (factors) can be generated before or duringdevice configuration stage.

Lesson-2 ARGUS-Configuration:Transducer and Corrections 3/3

Lesson-2 ARGUS-Configuration:Measurement Unit Configuration (Device) 1/5:
