Summary/Highlights: The sheriff's office requests authorization to seek and accept a $231,056 Central Florida High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) grant, and approval of the attached budget resolution appropriating grant proceeds. This grant will provide reimbursement for operating, overtime, and an administrative coordinator II position that was originally approved in May of 2006. This position operates as a criminal intelligence analyst assigned to the investigative services unit to compile, analyze, and disseminate information to local, state and federal law enforcement agencies. These expenses are related to the Volusia Bureau of Investigation and are on a reimbursement basis only.Recommended Motion: Approval.
